My guess is that by the end of the week, McPalin will announce he's pulling out of Minnesota and New Hampshire (two NH polls out today give Obama leads of 10-13 points). My guess is that with the extra cash from not having to compete in states like MI, NH and MN--that Obama will begin a real effort in Georgia where a new poll today has Obama behind by only 7-points and where early voting has been strong particularly among black voters.

1. VA.. he's down by 10 or more
He needs to get his ass back here to NE to defend his one electoral vote that Obama has 15 paid staffers running around trying to get.

The fact that Obama can AFFORD 15 paid staffers to run around and try to catch 1 Electoral Vote just goes to show how much money that guy has. It's AWESOME.

2. I'd like to see Obama move back into Montana and North Dakota
It's cheap to advertise there, so nothing would be lost if he failed to win them.

3. Pennsylvania is a dead state for McCain
Ed Rendell announced at the Bruce Springsteen concert that out-of-state college students could register in Pennsylvania and vote here.

4. He's down by 12 in Pennsylvania.
Latest Quinnipiac.

I'm guessing there.

I'd say Virginia, where's down by 10, but he already pulled out of N. Virginia.

7. He's got to press at least one big blue state, so he's stuck with PA
He cannot afford to demoralize his base by going completely on the defensive.

8. He's a republican.
He has to choose between not being able to afford his constituent's morale...

Or not being able to afford cash.

He'll pick cash every time.

5. I'm pretty sure McCain is going into a state of Panic
And I hope Obama makes a play for Georgia, Texas and even Arizona.

6. Obama should be pumping everything he has into close states that also have a close Senate race!
That includes North Carolina, Colorado, New Hampshire, Minnesota, Georgia, Oregon, Maine, and Texas!

9. Obama is all over North Carolina and I think he'll have long coattails.
We're looking at kicking Ditzy Dole to the curb, electing another Democratic governor, and going blue for a Democrat in the presidential since 1976. Not that we're overly optimistic or anything.... :9

15. Georgia has both a super close Senate race PLUS McCain has only a single digit lead.
In Oregon and New Hampshire and Minnesota, Obama is comfortably ahead but he could really boost tight Senate races there, and in Texas and Mississippi, there are Senate races where the Democrat is within single digits of the Reptile and Obama could make the race tight be putting it into play (with a visit, not statewide television).

11. I think Obama will concentrate in Florida, NC, Ohio, VA rather than a new state, BUT...
he may start pouring more money into Indiana. That's not far behind Ohio in a flip to Obama.

Also, I don't think McCain will pull out of Penn. I think they'll fight that one to the end. Too many electoral votes and western PA is pretty Republican.

13. It won't happen like that......
McCain will not announce that he is pulling out of anywhere. It was an incredibly stupid move on his part to voice that in public. However, he will definitely be pulling out on the ground in several states (and denying that he is doing so) while leaving a skeleton crew in place. My guess is that I will begin hearing more McCain ads in Texas as the pink on the map has to be making him nervous.

14. well, why did the campaign apparently announce the pull out of Michigan? Palin even commented on it.
Edited on Mon Oct-06-08 04:08 PM by WI_DEM
I agree it's a stupid move, but they are a stupid campaign. But you are probably right they won't announce it but the media will see that ad buys are cancelled, etc.
