McCain/Palin: A clear and present danger

Virtually no one on DU will cast a vote for McCain/Palin.

But millions of our fellow Americans will vote for them. And those votes will be enhanced by the vote-stealing tactics the Republicans have raised to an art form.

It's not going to be enough for us to just vote. Each and every one of us must try to convince everyone we know to turn up and vote for Obama.

There's no need to rehash all the reasons we can't afford to lose this one. But we know that voter caging, "cleansing" of voting lists, voter ID requirements and all the other schemes from the ReThug playbook are already in full swing.

To state it one more time, WE CAN'T AFFORD TO LOSE THIS ELECTION!

Get busy, get active and do everything you can do to ensure that we don't just win this election by "squeaking through." We're going to need more than a "landslide." We need an avalanche.

Get on the phone, talk to your neighbors and acquaintances, and concentrate on people who have not yet made up their minds. You don't need a script. We all know that the future of America is really on the line this time around.

Get mad, get involved and get busy. And, just maybe, we'll get rid of the power/influence/corruption of the Rethug Party for the foreseeable future. It's past time for each and everyone of us to make the pendulum swing in our direction.
