FOX NEWS busted chanting "4 more years" then spins
The Briefing

GREAT MORALE? A Lowdown spy strolling through the convention media center Wednesday afternoon heard a raucous chant from the Fox News Channel workspace.

"Four more years! Four more years!" Fox News employees were heard shouting merrily. "It stopped me dead in my tracks," said my witness. "It was outrageous - but not surprising." Yesterday a Fox News spokesman conceded that staffers were chanting "Four more years," but not as an expression of support for President Bush, rather as a humorous toast to a retiring techie.

"This was Tuesday night," the spokesman said. As for the Wednesday chanting, "I'm not aware of that."

1. Hey, CNN has joined them at the Kool-Aid Kooler
Remember all the crap they got for talking over pledge of allegiance at the DNC? Last night at the start of the color presentation, I hear Wolfie say let's pause and stand up for the Pledge of Allegiance.

Now, granted, it was the correct thing to do. But why didn't they have the same wits about them during the Dem denigration extravaganze?

19. Wolfie and pals DID talk over Clark's
moment of silence for the troops, though. I was in the hall and it was truly a beautiful and moving moment--you could hear a pin drop it was so quiet. When I watched my tape when I got home though, I was sickened. (And mad at myself that I accidentally taped CNN rather than C-SPAN. :silly: )

5. wait, you don't believe in the 'humorous toast to a retiring techie'?

6. Maybe they're losing their edge
Perhaps they don't have the stomach for 8 years of Kerry-bashing and would rather coast for 4 more years of ass-kissing.

10. This almost sounds like collusion between Fox & delegates
Edited on Fri Sep-03-04 09:16 AM by dmr
I found this in the Miami Herald earlier today.

http://jrosenkr.blogspot.com/2004/09/turn-to-fox-news-f...

"Turn to Fox News for Exclusive Coverage of the Republican National Convention."

Madison Square Garden, Aug. 2. First, there's the news that Fox beat all networks--not just its cable competitors--in the ratings race at the Republican convention.

Then there's this story, from the newspaper The Hill:
The love-in between Republican delegates and Fox News Channel continued on Tuesday night, as a group of delegates seated directly facing CNN’s broadcast booth began taunting the CNN cast and crew.

“Watch Fox News” chanted the delegates and other convention-goers in Section 223, likely broadcasting the message to millions of homes tuned in to CNN

Edited to add: I remember reading a while back about how Fox put up a huge billboard atop a building that sat directly across CNN's windows. I forget exactly what it said, but the CNN staffer said they took it as a message from Fox to them. Fox is as cold and calculating as the Bush* junta.
