Kerry's speech problem
Can the DNC get someone to work with Kerry on his delivery? He always talks over or past his punchlines. He's got to make his points more defined and forceful, and then stop talking. He gets to the punchline, the applause starts up but he keeps talking! Stop that! build, build, hit the punchline and stop. Sharp, crisp. By continuing to talk, he blunts his points and spreads out the effrect so that the listener loses the energy and JK loses the momentum.

Sharpen it up, JK!

1. As a person who can easily be moved by how one
delivers his or her speeches even knowing that half the time, the speaker is not responsible for what he or she is speaking, I can still be stirred by such...

Kerry's speech after listening to all of Bush's was inspiring to me and really gave me the hope and the faith that I needed that we will win this thing...

Bush's past four years speaks volumes, just keep heralding the obvious failings of this administration and come November, the polls will tell the tale..

2. I agree
I caught a bit of last night's speech, and he seemed to have improved since the DNC acceptance speech. He was still doing a bit of sputtering through the crowd's applause though. Don't get me wrong.. I thought it was a great speech, but he does need to learn to pause more for effect.

3. There's been a major improvement though.
He still winds up to the pitch with a needless pre-statement, but those unnecessary words were not mixed into the punch lines, as they used to be. In fact, all the punch lines were delivered in clear, crisp soundbites that shout out to any video editor. And he almost always spoke over the cheering with the unnecessary preamble and got the full sound bite out cleanly.
