Poll question: What type of 'phone voter' are you?
Edited on Wed Oct-08-08 07:53 PM by DainBramaged
There has been a LOT of talk how the polling services are missing a HUGE demographic, young, cell phone only voters. I at the tender age of 57, am a cell phone voter also. My number is on the do not call list, so I don't get called by anyone other than my friends, business associates and "Chica" who somehow got my number and is always asking for Richie (mis-dials the area code).

So here's the question, what kind of voter are you?

I am sure that the young cell votes will sway the election this year, and the African-American population (cell voters too) will help put Barack over the top.

One other non-poll question, do you think McLame knows how to work any kind of cell phone??

1. Cell phone only. Theoretically I have a land line....
...But it would be hard as hell for me to be polled on it as there's no phone attached to the thing. It's used only for DSL.

10. About 1 Mbit down and .25 Mbits up, but I'm way the hell out in the boonies.
I'm something like twice the maximum distance from the central office that they're supposed to be capable of serving, but a really savvy phone company tech helped hook me up anyway. Somewhere along the way the voice line became a little skittish and prone to making the phone warble at odd times for no particular reason, so we just unplugged the thing.

I don't mind the speeds--they're stellar compared to what I used to get. (I was on a satellite internet system, and you could only download 170 MB every 8 hours or so... so much for YouTube.)

4. I used to be signed up in '04 for all of the Internet polling
but with work, I can't risk being polled in the middle of a conference, etc.

7. I have both
but I'll never be polled on the land line because I never answer it if I don't know the caller ID.

9. Both, but I don't answer.
My home phone has "talking" caller ID (I can't be bothered to get off my ass and pick up the phone) so unless you're one of about 6 people who call me, I let it go to the answering machine.

13. I'm actually a 3-fer. I have a cell and 2 land lines. The other night I got first
one poll call on the house land line and then a second from the same people on the business land line. Of course, I registered 2 votes for Obama, just like in the Texas primaries!
