I know Clinton would do anything for Kerry but this is ridiculous!!
The story of Bill Clinton having heart bypass surgery is the hot topic on cable news. The Hurricane in Florida is a close second. Bush's convention speech is barely making a blip.

Bill Clinton, you are a great democrat and great American. The Clinton saga this weekend with his health will remind Americans of what we had and where the country was just four short years ago.

God speed, Mr. President and I know you'll be up and stumping for Kerry and a Democratic victory by October.

5. reminds people of Clinton vs. Poppy
Poppy scaring everyone that Clinton would make us less safe, and how Clinton would ruin the great Reagan economy.

Also, Poppy calling Clinton a flip-flopper...

10. JMHO, but let's
not use the stupid GOP's label. I know you're trying to make light of a bad situation, but WE should define ourselves in a better light and refrain from using their negative labels to define ourselves.

8. Letterman had quadruple bypass too, didn't he?
How long afterwards was he up and running? I remember on his first show back, the first words out of his mouth were, "Wait till you hear what happened to me..."

11. Quadruple or quintuple
My favorite story about Letterman's post-surgery return is that he wanted his favorite band, the Foo Fighters, for his first show back. From BartCop:

"On David Letterman's big 'back from the dead' show, they asked him who he wanted
as the musical guests on this biggest-of-all nights.  Dave said, 'Get me Foo Fighters.'

Problem: Foo Fighters were on tour in South America at the time, so you'd think 'well, ...that's that.'

But they got word to the Foo Fighters on the road in South America and Dave Grohl said,
'Dave needs us,' and they cancelled the rest of the SA tour and flew home."

9. It's Better Than the Typical Friday-Afternoon Data Dump
We're heading into a long weekend, too. *'s little speech will be a distant memory by Tuesday, when it's possible he'll be greeted with fresh scandal to erase any trace of 'honeymoon' whatsoever.
