*sigh*

Finally get my hands on an Obama yard sign. I know. I know. Yard signs don't vote. They do help my morale.

Deed restrictions in the neighborhood prohibit political signage so as a consequence the knoll in front of the subdivision is positively littered with campaign signs. I placed an Obama sign there at 2:30 this afternoon. When I went back out at 4:30 it was gone.

This after seeing a bumper sticker earlier in the day that must have made my blood pressure shoot through the roof. Made me positively light-headed I was so pissed off. Fucking furious would be a good solid description of my mood.

Picture of Osama Bin Laden and a picture of Obama with the caption. "What's the difference between OBama and OSama? Just a little BS." Totally crosses the line of common decency in my opinion.

On the way back home I stopped at the Obama campaign office. They had a sign on their door that more yard signs would not be available until Saturday. I popped in anyway to chat and surprise surprise. They've run out of signs because people have to keep replacing stolen ones.

On my way back into the neighborhood I figured I'd pull over and see if the Obama sign was truly gone. Not quite. Whoever it was had simply pulled it up and tossed it into the scrub. So I braved the creepy crawlies, retrieved it and put it right back up.

I am sure Democrats all over the country do not corner the market on respectful campaigning and Republicans cannot all be painted with a broad brush of hooliganism. But in my area it is 100% hands down scared as shit Republicans yanking out the Democrat's signs and not the other way around. I consider it a sign of weakness and desperation. Still a tad annoying.

However, for every yard sign that gets stolen, we've just been ordering more so thanks Republicans. Whenever you steal a sign you're adding to the Democratic coffers. You lurking Republicans didn't think of that, did you? While you're contemplating your indirect financial contribution to the Democrats....Grow the Fuck Up!

Man I cannot wait for inauguration day.

"I, Barack Hussein Obama, do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

We will hear those words. I know it.

Edited for typos

2. I've lost FIVE bumper stickers
Four of them magnetic and one a stick-on.

You are right. I just buy more.

Methinks it's time for a little surveillance camera for you.

3. Good thinking!
I hadn't thought of the fact that they're helping fund Obama!

Clever of you!

And yes, desperation tactics indeed.

This is what people do when they're losing, and have no good ideas about where the country needs to go...

4. Yep, keep having my car stickers/signs stolen in NC...
but it made one undecided voter who overheard me talking about my signs being stolen think it was unpatriotic to steal campaign signs, so it tipped her to Obama.

5. I think others may be stealing them as souveniers too.
Obama signs and stickers are in HIGH demand in many places so I wouldn't doubt that others are stealing them as keepsakes and whatnot. It's a shame we cannot produce enough of them to just flood the market.

McClown/Falin signs are pretty safe from anyone wanting to keep them.

7. Keep Buying, Never Give Up Trying...
Sorry that your sign was pulled up at all, let alone after being up for only a couple of hours. I just put my Obama-Biden magnet on my car and I will be sure to take it off each time I park anywhere besides here at home. My son wants to put his Obama sign in his front yard but I warned him that it wouldn't last long (he has a racist neighbor)and he would feel violated if it were stolen or destroyed. Better for him to keep it in his living room where he can enjoy it when he's at home.

Persistent Dems we are!

8. I don't think deeds can legally restrict political signage.
Any more than a deed can legally restrict ownership by a minority person.

I'd go ahead and put a sign up in my yard.

9. I agree, but I don't really think it's worth the hassle. Not exactly worthwhile...
thru-traffic in the neighborhood. Signage really is just to irritate the neighbors as we already all know who stands where. I honestly don't mind putting the sign up outside the neighborhood because there is gets excellent visibility on a major street through the city.
