similar to what Obama is going to run at the end of October...

I can't remember the ad...Was that the one where he had the charts & graphs??....

BTW, Dana Carvey did a great Perot imitation on SNL back in the day..

1. He had a series of half-hours shows that got weirder and weirder
One of them was all about how cute his grand-daughter was. Seriously.

2. I believe so.
Showing my age - but that was the first year I was able to vote.

3. That was the one
I seriously doubt there's going to be anything similar about the two. I don't really know why they'd bring it up.

6. If you saw the Carvey skit, you saw the Perot spot
Not a whole lot of difference, to be honest.

8. He did
No wonder he did so good in the polls for an independent.

10. I also heard that Reagan did the same thing and it was quite successful.
The news report went on to say that it was pretty common during the 70's when air time on TV was cheaper.

11. The thing is this..
to some extent, Perot's infomercials and charts worked. When was the last time your heard of a third-party candidate leading in the polls? For a brief time period, Perot was leading.. and it was in no small part due to those mocked infomercials.

By the time this infomercial airs, Obama's team is going to know who the undecideds are, who the weak Obama supporters are, and why they are where they are on their voting decisions. Obama's best performances often come with a teleprompter script, and you can bet that Obama's writers will be tailoring this half-hour to those specific audiences, seeking to hold-onto weak supporters and win undecideds. This is a brilliant play by Obama, and will most likely result in a mini-convention bounce.

I've been saying for a while that our candidate needs an election-eve infomercial, and now I'm positively giddy that we're getting one. :D
