Hadn't thought about Sam Bennett in a long time.

He sounded like a two bit actor reciting lines in a stereotypical voice without having any authenticity to that voice or awareness of its roots. There was nothing real in his performance. It did not go beneath the surface. This is my critique of Mr. Harris' performance.

This language, both that which is a quote"N**,N**,N**"; and the letter this poster repeated as one she posted on James Harris's blog is truly unbecoming of a supporter of Barack Obama. It certainly doesn't further the discussion regarding the differences between the two candidates; nor does it illuminate the problem of the McCain's and Palin's campaign use of racially tinged rhetoric, if anything it bolsters it. Mister Harris is entitled to his opinion. I disagree with him. He should be called out for shilling for the campaign if this is what he doing and perpetuating lies about Obama. I certainly do not believe Barack Obama would appreciate the response you posted to Mr. Harris's blog.
This is just the kind of talk the trolls seek out to use against him.

As Supporters of Barack Obama we should not be engaging in tit for tat language. They sound like an angry lynch mob. Don't you want to appear above that? Barack Obama is. His character appeals to me and his ability to rise above this low sleazy tactic of McCain's will win in the end.

This guy, I think, may meet the fairly rigorous standard he sets in that book. I may be being unfair here but, from reading his prose, I am pretty certain that his heart isn't in it, that he is doing this for money and the attention. He's an oddity, a political carnival freak.

Anyway, if you haven't read the book, get it. Kennedy is smart, and it is a terrific book.

For some reason, this really bothers me. I am not black, though I am a person of color . . . not sure why it should bother me that this guy is such a hard core conservative, but it really does bother me. A lot. Seems like a betrayal of so many people who worked to open up the paths that he has taken. And now he joins the other team.

Yet I also feel it's unfair somehow not to let him have whatever political affiliation he wants. Isn't that also what folks fought for? Would be interested in others' reactions.

Literally seconds before I saw your thread, I'd just watched this guy pose his question and shook my head, wondering how McCain was so "fortunate" as to have someone plead with him to "out" this bad guy, (the-gasp!-Democrat!) with such a good camera angle and so well delivered... oh - and how doubly-lucky to have the man be African American. Especially given the transparent ugliness within the campaign that we keep having to endure, there was no way I was about to believe this wasn't staged, planned and orchestrated.

So often this stuff just slips under the radar.

Sadly for McCain, this is just another bumbling attempt at "strategy" that serves no purpose but to illustrate how mediocre (at the VERY best) this senator and his politics are... but I think that is too generous. He's pretty much in a free fall nosedive, it seems, and orchestrating glaringly fake "truthiness" does nothing positive for him.

I'd be curious if he or his station uses this nationally televised moment as advertising so he/they can directly benefit. This additional information would further add credibility to criticisms of his opportunistic theatrics. It does seem curious as one who has attended political rallies over the last 30+ years that he got a front row seat. It has been my experience those seats are usually reserved for special guests, not to those who show up early.

I don't think you can cure that. Unless, you transplant the patient to a predominently pigmented state. It may take years, but eventually he will begin to presume he is akin to the ruling power there. At this point, he will come down with s sense of moral confusion and will fall off of his high horse.

now if we can just find proof that the ones shooting bad things (not going to repeat them here, we know what they are)at the repuke rallies are plants also, as I've suspected from the beginning. I don't think it's a coincidence that this just started on its own. Someone is putting people in the crowd to say these things ... just like the Nazi leaders did.
