theirs is always the "lesser of two evils"

It must really suck for them to have to so consistently vote against their beliefs and values.

1. Yes -- their fervor is driven by hatred of our candidate, rather than
enthusiastic support of theirs. They're not for McCain, just against Obama.

I think we are so tremendously lucky this time around!

5. I've noticed the same thing
Its as if they don't even "see" the candidate they're supporting. They don't care who it is as long as its NOT Obama. I think on some level, some of these people are harboring racist feelings that they may not even know they have, and they need an excuse to not support him. The videos I've seen of McCain supporters have been absolutely horrifying. I can't believe they are the same species as I am.

2. Well for us former Hillary supporters we've got the lesser of two angels, I guess.
I personally wanted Hillary, but I can certainly live with OBama. Especially since contrary to my fears, he's kicking butt and taking no prisoners.

I never thought any of our primary candidates was evil. And I thought that the last two standing were terrific. What do you call the lesser of two very good options? Of course, many Du'ers think we got the better of two terrific option. Some Du'ers may still think of HIllary as evil incarnate. But I hope not.

8. I was not a Hillary supporter
Ironically it had more to do with Bill's antics than anything else. But I think since the primary, she's acquitted herself nicely.

3. It's the opposite of 2004
As disgusting as his campaign has been, I don't want McCain to lose nearly as much as I want Obama to win. And I couldn't say the same in 2004. It's one of the reasons I think we have a good chance this year.

7. not for me--I really, really wanted Kerry to win.
I still haven't completely gotten over it! But an Obama victory will help a lot. He's basically in agreement with Kerry on policy.

4. Dems fall in love with their candidates. Repubs fall in behind theirs.

This year has some interesting twists on that pattern. =D

6. We had an extraordinary field of candidates this year, the repubs
had a freak show.
