Edited on Fri Oct-10-08 05:33 PM by cottonseed
Their use of Sara Palin. We all know she's unqualified, we know it was a brash and reactive choice of McCain's, and we know she's got baggage galore, but the way they're using her is sick.

The smart thing would have been to send her to hospitals, press trips visiting the poor, make her an advocate for children. Something along those lines. If they wanted a media circus (which is what her only use is) she could have been positioned as some sort of savior for the everyman.

Because the Republican/Conservative movement is such a morally bankrupt one, they didn't even have the one compassionate bone in their being to even have seen this. They instead are parading her out there (along with McCain's wife) attacking Obama as being a terrorist, inciting hate. That is disgusting and this movement of theirs will be deservingly crushed.

1. She's pretty.
Can you imagine if she weren't. The voice, the nastiness, the child neglect, the stupidity . . . says a lot about our culture.

2. She ain't running for First Mistress
The VP goes to political rallies and rallies the base. That is the VP's job during the campaign. It is in fact quite traditional for the VP to be the attack dog.

There is nothing wrong with the way their are using Palin, what is wrong is Palin herself: she is simply too ignorant and perhaps too stupid to be VP; and the content of her speeches: the nearly overtly racist attacks she is engaged in. Her rallies have crossed a line that should not be crossed in a civil society. The hate mongering that is going down these last few weeks of the failed McStain campaign are very dangerous and could quite quickly spiral out of control. You cannot keep telling thousands of people that the person who is very likely the next president of the republic is 'palling around with terrorists' and is 'not one of us' without repercussions. The irresponsiblity of the McSleaze campaign is bordering on criminal behavior.
