Maybe Big Dog will take the edge off of any Bush gains..........
Right now (after some polls were taken and released) came the news of Clinton's surgery. It and the hurricane has knocked Georgie's grand start out of the blocks off the news to a great degree. But, the media is also going to dwell on the surgery for the next several days and be very, very attentive Tuesday as Bill undergoes surgery and recovery. That makes people remember Clinton and our good times. It makes people 'feel' for a politician rather than all the rhetoric out there. It brings people's focus back to a Democrat and makes Bush's attacks seem crass at times like these (except to his wingers). It may just be that Bush's bounce gets squashed by Bill's heart (and I mean that in more ways than just an 'organ').

1. The hurricane has taken some of Shrub (and the RNC)
spotlight.

And then the sudden sad news about Clinton broke and at least when I was watching the cable news

and Frances and Bill had the whole spotlight.

2. During Bills recovery he may be able to do some fireside
chats, just let us know how he is doing and what he thinks about the state of the world.

3. Ya know, I m a political junkie,
but when I heard about Bill Clinton, I never stopped to think about how his illness would spin the media.

I just thought, wow, the guy is having to undergo a really serious surgery. He looked better than ever, lost weight, etc. And such a vigorous guy, & so youthful. It really puts you in touch with mortality, & what is really important.

Shame on me!
