But I have no illusions that he is going to solve our problems. The best we can hope for is that he will be able to set up some conditions wherein we can work out our own solutions without the government actively working against us, as has been the case for the last 8 years (and, actually, longer). Case in point: I'm presuming he can get the two-headed monkey of lowered taxes for the rich and spiralling debt for an evil war off our backs so that we actually get something useful for our taxes and aren't continually vampirized by Bush and his co-conspirators. All I ask is that some of my tax money go to pay for my health care instead of that war, that the rich--who get the greatest benefits from out government--pay in thier fair share, that we put money into developing green technology instead of subsidizing oil companies and making Palin's Pipeline Prayers into reality. Things like that.
