Davis: McCain can't be compared to Wallace because he was a POW
Just catching the beginning of Fox News Sunday and Rick Davis, to my ears, essentially played the POW card again. Now, I don't think McCain should be compared to George Wallace (though I can compare the reactions to the rhetoric each was spouting), but I can't believe the McCain campaign is still playing the POW card as a standard defense against practically every criticism.

4. If that is the case
then McCain would be WORSE than Wallace!

(1) We have the overt racism of the Wallace years, and

(2) There is the good possibility that McCain's long imprisonment may be contributing to his mental instability.

Now there's a chilling thought.

PS: I'm a Viet Nam vet myself, and I have been involved with quite a few fellows with PTSD, and while they are great guys, I feel strongly that many of them would not be able to rationally handle such positions of power.

6. i am really getting tired of this POW meme
look, John McCain collaborated after capture. He helped the enemy.

I do not condemn this, I think we can all see it as dire survival in extraordinary circumstances, and eminently forgivable. It does not disqualify him from running or being Pres on his merits - but I fail to see how it actually makes him Presidential. Or even Senatorial, for that matter.

It's like he keeps claiming every POW is automatically the best candidate over anyone else.
