I can't remember the name of the Republican guest, but I can tell you he was a pre-programmed right wing dork like the rest, He had come onto the show pre-programmed to regurgitate that new meme. They are so pathetically transparent...

that studied the loans and found that 84% of the bad loans came from OTHER than Fannie and Freddie. so there thbptttt!

7. Isn't this the bloke that Sarah Palin voted for in 1996 or 2000 or both?
I remember reading that she wore a button for Pat Buchanan's appearance in the state, but voted for Forbes. Which is a mark against him right away!

but the problem stemmed from the heads of these orgs deciding that the guaranteed debt could now be sold as investments. THIS is what freed up sub prime originators to have more debt to make which caused predatory lending to occur. It also caused investment houses to be drawn in. These same unregulated houses, then gave this "bad debt" and investment grade rating to it could be resold and thus the cycle of nuttery began.
