Edited on Sun Oct-12-08 02:03 PM by mckeown1128
PUMA's the supposed Democrats that wont' support Obama... have slowly been reveling themselves...to be frauds... First they threw the Democratic party under the bus... Dean, Pelosi, Richardson etc...(apparently there was a huge conspiracy to hand the election to Obama...lol)

Then they backed McCain... and threw Democratic policies under the bus... (saying things like...radical left this...and using other GOP code words and phrases to attack Obama's policies)

now this:

osaka puma on 10.12.08 at 1:42 pm

hillary turned out to be a HUGE disappointment..
i could kick myself in the ass for busting my ass to support her and stressing out for her for so long..

http://blog.pumapac.org/2008/10/12/sunday-open-thread/#comments

(the comedy of their blog is rampant... between Obama is a secret Muslim, illegal alien, arab, with ties to Hamas and is trying to push Ayers agenda, blah blah blah... and their consistent attempt to claim that they are 18 million strong.... it's good for a laugh every now and then...well if your like this sort of stupidity)

On edit: Bill too:

mountainsong on 10.12.08 at 1:39 pm

Bill clinton is A socialist. He was only a ‘Democrat’ when he wanted people to vote for him. And, Hillary….well, she talks a good game, just like Bill, but after Monica, Hillary’s just been out for Hillary.

I recognize dozens of them. Some of them were dedicated Democrats in 2004 who forgot to take their meds this year.

Let's face it, there are plenty of mentally ill whackos on both sides.

The hate for Obama is so palpable at these other boards. It has nothing to do with Hillary. or with their newfound love of Palin and McCain(and rove, Fox news, etc). It is a front to say what I would guess most cannot even admit to themselves.

11. Ya know.. I've always felt that way too.
They were either Rethugs who backed Hillary purely because of gender, or they were Dems who couldn't vote for a Black man and used Hillary as an excuse.

In either case, I never felt that there were enough of them to worry about... and I was right.

12. I felt that too, even those from DU who broke away
Since Barack and Hillary had similar policies and the same goals for the party, how can they have whipped up so much sustained hatred of Obama unless it was racial? Look at how many national Hillary supporters have embraced Obama completely - Bayh (not just for his VP chances, he's still visibly campaigning for him), Strickland (my governor), Begala and Carville, and most especially the extremely loyal Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, not to mention a slew of Hillary spokespeople. No, those real PUMAs are racists, to the core, and hide behide McCain and Palin exactly in the way that republican racists do. It's very sad.

7. If they prefer McCain/Palin over someone whose policies are similar to Hillary -
then I have to wonder if they were repugs from the beginning.

Even when I was a Hillary supporter and was crushed that she lost, I reluctantly supported Obama because he was the Dem...and any Dem is better than any Repug anyday...especially this Repug combo!

Little did I know at that time that I too would become an enthusiastic Obama supporter.

So - if they want to vote for McCain/Palin - who cares? They probably voted for Bush in 2004 anyway.

16. The bigger problem caused by these people
was that the media acted as if they were the be all end all of clairvoyance. So right up until Pelosi gaveled the DNC convention to adjournment, the entire bloviating media corps were waiting anxiously for the riots in the streets, the fights on the floor, and some fantasy coup d'etat installation of Hillary by these faux "PUMAs". And when that didn't happen, I still maintain, that is the day the repuke party and McKlan's campaign died. And as their death rattle reverberated around the nation that Thursday night, the Hail Mary was thrown and the witch doctor-blessed Mooselini blew her wretched breath into their bodies and they arose as the undead. And they have been zombified ever since! Walking around erratically sowing discord and literally destroying what is left of the memories of repuke party as the so-called "party of Lincoln and Reagan".

42. You want to hear a funny about that site???
Remember that wonderful speech that Sen. Clinton gave at the DNC convention?? Well, I wrote about "HillaryIs44's" response.

http://www.yestodemocracy.com/yes_to_democracy_no_to_pu/2008/08/the-pumas-in-th.html

In a nutshell, they published a copy of Sen. Clinton's speech - minus almost 400 words. They EDITED out (okay, censored) everything thing Sen. Clinton said about party unity and the need to elect Sen. Obama.

They did everything they could think of to convince themselves that the parts of the speech where she endorsed Sen. Obama simply don't exist. Anything to convince themselves and the PUMA faithful that she didn't really say "Barack Obama is my candidate. And he must be our President".

39. Sounds about right.....
Last month I wrote an article at Yes To Democracy on the Imaginary Clinton the PUMAs worship;

http://www.yestodemocracy.com/yes_to_democracy_no_to_pu/2008/09/the-imaginary-c.html

"I've said before that PUMAs don't really support or follow Sen. Hillary Clinton. They follow and adore a parody of Sen. Clinton that makes her out as some blessed warrior and martyr/victim to their PUMA cult. This is the only way they can ignore the stumping and campaigning that Sen. Clinton is doing for Sen. Obama. Remember, these are the people that felt the need to edit Sen. Clinton's speech to remove the icky parts about "Party Unity" and "supporting Sen. Barack Obama".

They aren't Clinton supporters. They hold up some twisted parody of Sen. Clinton as a warrior martyr, make up what they want her to say, scan everything she does in an attempt to convince herself that she really didn't mean what she said.

And when they can't convince themselves any further, under the bus she goes.

46. I wanted Hillary to win. Badly. I still get sad when I think of what could have been.
During the primaries I joined a board that was created for current and former (banned) DU members who supported Hillary (some here will know which one I'm talking about). It's not the same site as the one the OP linked to. I was grateful to have a place to speak solely with Hillary supporters and be free of all the fighting that was going on here. However, things began to change there when Hillary dropped out and endorsed Obama in June. At that point many on that board questioned Hillary's sincerity in supporting Obama and speculated that she and Bill were working behind the scenes to defeat Obama and run in 2012.(I think I could say the same about certain Obama supporters on DU during this period, lol). However, after Bill's and Hillary's convention speeches many on that board were horrified by the realization that maybe the Clintons really DID want to see Obama win. Even so, most continued to rationalize Hillary's support for Obama by saying that she's a loyal Democrat who is just doing what she needs to do to remain in good standing in the party and some surmised that Obama was blackmailing her (seriously).

And then came Palin. Ugh, that was when I basically stopped posting at that board. How these people could go from supporting Hillary and her progressive policies to supporting Palin was mind-boggling to me. Some there went so far to say that Hillary gave us Sarah. Barf. Yeah, I'm sure that's the legacy Hillary would want. So what started back around March as a pro-Hillary board created for primary Hillary supporters from DU has slowly degenerated into a pro McCain/Palin board. I checked in the other day to see where things stood on that board and I saw postings such as "Fuck Hillary" and "I want my $100 back."

So yes, as the OP of this thread brings to light, some primary Hillary supporters have begun turning on her and Bill because of their continued, genuine support for Obama. I think it's good for primary Obama supporters to be aware of this turn of events because Hillary is indeed genuine in her support of Obama and she is now being attacked by some of her primary supporters because of that support.

50. Those are the 'Vagina Voters'.
They don't care one bit about Hillary's politics, or Palin's. They care that they have a vagina, and that is paramount in their thinking as to what one needs to get their vote.

They were not Democrats.

The Hillary supporters I know are all Obama supporters, and would have supported the Democratic nominee whoever it turned out to be.

Those are real Democrats.
