"He's an Arab"

This is part of an actual conversation.

No. He's. Not. He's an American. And his dad was from Kenya.

"He's a Muslim"

No. He is a Christian. He went to a Christian church. His minister is a well known Christian.

"He's going to cut welfare to blacks."

Yes. But he is going to make jobs available for them as he cuts welfare. He has pledged to begin producing alternative fuels like solar, wind and biofuels. In doing so he will end the transfer of wealth from here to foreign oil suppliers and keeping the money here.

Methinks I may have just gotten another vote for Obama.

1. There's nothing wrong with Arabs. Or Muslims.

Or people named, 'Hussein'. But there is definitely wrong with some people named, 'McCain' and 'Palin'.

8. I know Arabs who are Christians and Muslims who aren't Arabs.
I know non-Israelis who are Jewish and come from other Middle Eastern countries. I feel this kind of racism and bigotry to be rooted in gross ignorance. I don't know how we can go about educating these people if the schools they attended as children didn't do the job. I don't want the two top chief executives to be party to this bigotry. It's bad enough that our present administration has been waging war in the middle east for no good reason other than to steal their oil and they were able to get away with it because their base support comes from these prejudiced and ignorant people. McCain/Palin should never be allowed into the White House. Our country is better than this.

2. "He's an Arab"
As if there's no such thing as patriotic, hard-working Arab-Americans.

4. Just remembered this:
"McCain is an idiot."

I do believe that guy will vote against his racism, for once.

He also said he will vote for Obama four years from now, if Obama wins this time.

16. Arab is code for he is Black.
They know it is not acceptable for them to say they won't vote for him because he is Black, so they say he is Arab. Some people may be dumb enough to believe that, but most of them it is just a cover-up.

You know what some people, especially of the military, call Arabs. Sand-'N'. Enough said. :puke:

7. I sort of find this "arab' answer insulting to anyone of Middle east heritage.

I think it would be better to inform them on
famous Americans who have Arab heritage.

You'd be surprised on who is on this list.

9. Of course its insulting
The whole damned conversation was insulting. But if he votes for Obama I'd listen again and again. It will have been worth it.

13. Anyone delusional enough to believe a half-black man ho was raised
in Kansas and Hawaii is an Arab, is probably beyond the reach of logic and evidence. But thanks for trying.

15. You know....
I am cynical enough to agree with you. Some people are way beyond reason. It's amazing how they make it through life.
