Palin at a Sheetz Store in My Hometown.
Edited on Sun Oct-12-08 05:43 PM by sparosnare
I just saw the clip on CNN; she made a pit stop in Altoona on her way to Philly.

Is anyone surprised she strapped on a baby sling, put poor little Trig in it and paraded him around the store like some sort of prop?

She went back outside, got rid of the baby and 'answered' a few questions before climbing back on the bus.

Thank god she didn't stay any longer to stink up the place like she did in Johnstown.

1. Did she pick up a half-rack of Bud Light and a couple packs of Benson & Hedges?
That's what you do at a Sheetz, no? :)

18. MTOs kick ass.
The Sheetz I've been to are generous with the ingredients.

Very good sub for the money, IMO.

19. No beer in convenience stores in PA.
It sucks.

You have to go to a bar (for a six pack) or a "beer distributor" (for a case).

I shit you not.

I always wig out when I travel on business and see six packs in 7-11's and grocery stores...

22. No liquor in grocery stores? How about drug stores?
Do you have liquor stores? How about there?

Sounds almost as bad as Utah, which has some sort of "package store" crap going on, and BYOB for restaurants......

26. Liquor stores are for wine & spirits. No beer.
Edited on Mon Oct-13-08 10:11 AM by MadrasT
If you want a six pack of beer and a bottle of vodka, you have to go to 2 different places to get them. Haha, if you want a six pack of one kind of beer, a case of another kind of beer, and a bottle of vodka, then that makes 3 places to go.

And don't think you're going to pick up a carton of milk or a dozen eggs the same place.

If you want wine or liquor, you go to the "Wine and Spirits" store, run by the state of PA, (also known as the "State Store").

If you want a six pack of beer, you have to buy it in a bar (up to 2 six packs allowed), or a "package store" (but the "package store" also has to sell food, you can't just sell six packs of beer).

If you want a case of beer, you have to go to a beer distributor, where that's all they sell. Cases/kegs of beer.

Vineyards where they make wine are allowed to sell their own wine.

Never in a grocery store, convenience store, or gas station. Illegal.

I almost flipped out when I went to a Trader Joe's in California and they had WHOLE AISLES OF WINE! zOMG!!! Wine at Trader Joe's!!!

30. That's pretty much it, as far as I'm concerned.
Honestly, until I reached adulthood and started traveling on business, I never realized it wasn't "normal" to have to jump through hoops to get alcohol!

I mean it, my head almost exploded when I walked into a quicki-mart at a gas station in Folsom, CA and saw BEER there.

I found out about "dry counties" here in Texas (I'm from NY) when I needed a single bottle of Guinness Extra Stout to make a St. Patrick's Day dinner. That hour and a half to two hours spent driving around trying to find some was REAL fun...

They sold beer...to do so, they put a bar in the store. Swear to god. I had a beer there once, just so I could say that I had. :D

2. I feel really sad for Trig
I think this infant is severely disabled due to Down Syndrome. I've yet to see him move. Something is very wrong.

Some children with Down Syndrome never get beyond this stage sadly. I hope this is not his case. Perhaps if he had a real mother taking care of him he'd have a better shot in life.

I find Palin to be a pathetic case for a mother. :wtf: is wrong with her anyway?

:(

:kick:

4. hopefully under an Obama presidency he will have a shot at a decent existence and his parents will
have decent health care back in alaska. I think it is strange how they use those kids as props, but it's all they've got.

6. Trig is at a critical stage right now
the next couple of years will show where he is going to end up with this problem. It seems she doesn't even care except to use him as a prop.

I wonder if she is prepared to be taking care of Trig for perhaps the rest of her life (which includes changing his diapers).

I've seen cases of Down Syndrome like this unfortunately.
