Today at work a Republican Obama supporter

whispered to me "You know, I am beginning to think Obama might actually win. Did you think you would ever see this in your lifetime?" I told her that it was almost surreal to me and she finished by saying how excited her teenage children were going to be if Obama wins. Her mom and dad are right-wing fundamentalist fanatics who believe Obama is a Muslim. She has really made an effort to study the issues and follow the campaign. I am really very proud of her.

I loved my Republican Grandfather but he was pretty much a douche, he just wasn't a douche to me and he dies before they really got out of control and Rush came to power.

I got a chance to tell a couple of ladies some stuff they hadn't heard, because they don't use the internet the way we do. I told them about how the war happened and what General Petraeus is saying about not using the word "victory" in reference to Iraq. I explained how McCain plans to finance the tax rebate he says he is going to give them for health care and also about the rest of the story about the AIP.

Both of them were very interested and expressed sincere intent to go to Obama's website and also use google to inform themselves better. I think they have felt intimidated by the pressure for Palin and they know better than to say anything around someone.
