Are Republicans benefiting from lack of Convention Coverage?

The Russian School massacre, the Florida hurricane, President Clinton, all have taken over the news and the hate fest has not been analyzed by the Media other than them saying Bush* received huge bounce. I believe if they talked about the Convention and all the hatred espoused there the bounce may not exist or in fact become negative. There was virtually no talk of the last four years failures or the Bandaids or anything.
