Freak Republicans Throw In The Towel-Want To Cancel The Election
Edited on Tue Oct-14-08 05:43 PM by DemocratSinceBirth
Postpone The Election.com is up & running for test (and your critiques)
Postpone The Election.com ^ | October 14, 2008 | Stayfree

Posted on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 6:41:27 PM by Stayfree

This is a grass-roots effort to petition the U.S. Supreme Court, the Senate, the House of Representatives, the President, the U.S. Dept. of Justice, the Federal Election Commission, all affected political parties, the state officials responsible for overseeing elections and other interested parties to postpone the election because of thousands of felonies committed in the acts of rampant voter registration fraud across the nation perpetrated by agents of ACORN as a purposeful criminal conspiracy to deprive American citizens of their voters' rights and their rights to due process under the U.S. Constitution in order to steal the election for Barack Obama.

10. I have a question, realizing, of course, that Republicans aren't known for logic.
So what if ACORN registered a bunch of people? I mean, I know it's legally wrong, but how would it affect the outcome of the election?

Seriously, if I were charged with registering 1,000 people and I was morally lazy and copied names out of the phone book, then how would any of these people know they were even registered to vote? If they weren't motivated enough to register themselves, do you think they're going to be motivated enough to go to the polls just because they may or may not receive a voter's registration card in the mail (heck, if they're that politically unastute, they may not even know what it is when they get it).

It's not like I'm just going to wake up on election day, knowing I never registered and decide to show up to the polls just in case someone registered me. If I weren't the type of person who purposefully registers, I'm not going to get off my duff and go vote.

Will some of these citizens go vote? Sure. But, having made it through their local government's screening process to even get the card to begin with, then I figure the person who was registered must be legitimate.

What's the big deal?

22. Yup, you got it. They really are that uninformed.
They think because someone wrote Donald Duck on a registration form, THAT's ElEcTioN FrAuD!!!!! They don't understand how the process works, and they don't care to understand. It just makes a good talking point for them, because they know Obama is going to win the election, and they want to have an excuse so they don't have to acknowledge that the country is sick to death of their racist warmongering kookery.

42. ACORN registers NO ONE - they are just APPLICATIONS to register
This is important to remember. I think - ACORN's contracted employees were scamming ACORN with the false restration applications, and ACORN is required to turn in ALL that are fillled out. It is then up to the relevant state voting officials to determine the legitimacy of these applications.

If they pass muster, THEN and ONLY then are the applicants registered.

So you are right, not as big a deal as they want to make it - we do need to clean up and simplify our voting process from registration to counting, though.
Maybe when the right is shouting about it, we can rope them in to make some real changes. Probably not the changes they want, heh...

47. Exactly! I watched this poor guy from ACORN named Kevin Whalen on C-SPAN this morning and he...
repeatedly explained this but the idiot press core just refused to get it(especially the National Review). He seriously had to explain this 10 times. He said (paraphrasing) "If one person registers 12 times, they still only get one vote." ACORN is responsible for collecting the applications. They go through the apps and separate the ones they suspect are questionable or fraudulent. It is up to the Board of Elections to make the final decision as to the validity of the apps. This is their frickin' job, to verify and validate the apps, NOT ACORN'S. Mr. Whalen kept trying to explain this to these idiots but they just couldn't wrap their heads around it.

23. I have to disagree with you on that one
I don't necessarily think it is Bush wanting to stay in power, but the right wing cabal behind his presidency that's getting a little nervous.

When I see Bush nowadays, especially since the financial meltdown, he looks like a sixth-grader waiting out the last 3 weeks of school until summer break. As much as I've mistrusted him the last 8 years, I think that guy wants out at this point.

17. Someone needs to ask them...
...if a bored volunteer puts Daffy Duck on a registration slip, do these Freepers REALLLLLLY think that registration form is going through? No. Is someone showing up to vote under that name? No. If someone tried, could they vote? No.

People who collect registration forms have to turn all of them in. They can't NOT turn them in. It's up to the government to sift through them and verify that the person is actually a citizen and a resident of the state.

This is the biggest NON-story I've seen this year.

19. Ghaaaa!! My eyes!!!! I actually looked at "PpTheE.com". It's damn ugly
I'm not talking about the content---I mean the look of PostponeTheElection.com is just this grating wall of blue words and blue links to a lot of boring right wing sites. And it just nags on and on about how the few hundred Acorn bogus registrations is going to distort the election.

The only relief from the wall of blue is that picture when Hillary & Richardson are holding their hands to their hearts for the National Anthem and Obama isn't.

Just a fugly website.

26. Now they're threatening to RIOT if they lose! Unbelievable!
I was just looking at PostponeTheElection.com, and my jaw dropped as I read this:

The purpose of this petition is to peacefully avoid any civil unrest that very might well occur in reaction to what will surely be perceived as a stolen election, were it to go forward with known and rampant fraud destroying its credibility.

Get ready for a Republican riot, folks.
