AP - The McCain Campaign has announced plans to add a second running mate to his ticket. Tucker Bounds, speaking for the campaign, says that this is no way a reflection on Sarah Palin, who he says she has done a very effective job of exciting the conservative base. In a statement prepared for release late Tuesday night Bounds announced that Bo Derek will be added as a second running mate to run on the ticket with John McCain.

"Sen. McCain feels that the addition of Ms. Derek will add to his "Mavarick" image and may convince some of those independent voters, who have been turning to Obama in alarming numbers, to give him a second look. Also, we can let her talk to reporters, something that she would be comfortable doing." When asked about the constitutionality of their plan to add a second vice presidential candidate to the ticket Bounds replied, "If the last eight years have shown us anything, it's that the constitution is more of a set of "guidelines" than rules carved in stone." They hope this addition to the ticket will catch the Obama campaign off guard on a day everyone expects Obama to once again out-preform McCain in a debate. "At this point what do we have to lose?" said Bounds.
