Let me the FIRST to condemn any Obama supporter or Democrat who is wearing "C" word t-shirts. . .
. . .to attack Palin.

McCain spokesperson, Nicole Wallace, on MORNING JOE this morning alleged that folks are wearing "C" word (C U NEXT TUESDAY is what she said) t-shirts to Obama rallies attacking Palin. Not sure if this is true but if it is I condemn it as I am sure the Obama campaign does.

The distinction I will make however is is there anything in the Obama rhetoric that encourages folks to allegedly wear those shirts?

11. Why do Democrats have to be considered the harbingers of all that is evil in the world
while allowing the repukes to tar and feather us this way... all despite the fact that they are the truly evil ones? Why would anyone put any credence to what they say? And why are we not demanding that they denounce McKKKlan supporters who walk around with monkey dolls with Obama stickers on them? They would say "First Amendment" and we capitulate.

No one on this board nor in the Obama campaign has anything to do with what any one of 300,000,000 American citizens do.

Typically, you don't see a Photoshop piece that works so well with the wrinkles of the fabric and the contour of the shirt compared to the bodies.

It's most likely a real photo of a group of idiots who just want to get noticed for being "mean" and "risque".

There is no proof that any of these idiots are Democrats.
Just a bunch of shameless self-promoters looking for their fifteen minutes of fame.

43. look, daddy, Obama did it too!
I am sooo sick of the whining from the McCain camp.

do these t-shirts stem from rhetoric the Obama ticket is stirring up? NO WAY.

End of story.

liberals don't use words like that in this way normally....I question it just because of it's lack of taste. Liberals make jokes of things, they use that word in a rant perhaps, but not on a t-shirt. No liberal worth their salt would stoop to that, when there is so much else to say. Besides, that word hardly describes her true faults. She is a patriarch in a skirt. She is a racist, she is a moron, she is ill equipped and misinformed and internationally embarrassed.

I call bullshit on this, for the simple fact that liberals have a much better command of the english language and use it with finesse. there is no finesse here, just a childish desire to say "he did it too!"

51. I can second that.
I haven't seen it either but if anyone is... it is something I disagree with.

66. It doesn't
How the hell this is supposed to be equivalent I don't know. Furthermore, how the hell this is supposed to be attached to Obama is another mystery. We have no knowledge of the political leanings of this group whatsoever.

Another lame ass excuse to slime Obama is what it is.

53. K&R, I also condemn and wonder why these
folks feel the need to do this. Palin is pretty good as discrediting herself without any outside help. These tee-shirt wearers are only discrediting themselves and their fellow democrats. You'd think they could have come up with something, anything more clever than this.

Has anyone seen any photographic evidence of this yet? I heard this story once but they refused to show a photo of the people because of the graphic nature (but they could have just fuzzed out the 1 word!). When they fail to show evidence, its starts making me wonder ..............

56. I wonder if anyone can identify the people wearing those T shirts
I think a lot of people would call them out. There were a lot of hard core Democratic supporters in the protest who would like to point out those folks. I wonder if the picture was photoshopped or if those guys were plants. Given how much the Obama campaign relies on the grass roots, it would be hard to show up at a rally and not have someone in your neighborhood able to identify you.

59. OK, to be fair to the old guy,
is there actual proof that he ever said that to Cindy or is it just hearsay? You know how people always make things up about those who they don't like.

63. no video evidence, so that is not proof
Edited on Wed Oct-15-08 09:48 AM by ErinBerin84
I remember when someone asked McCain about it in a town hall, and he said "We don't use that kind of language here", and the man was ushered out. (funny, he thought it was acceptable to call Hillary Clinton the B word in a similar event..) According to Ben Smith, the creator of the shirt worn by people outside of Palin event is a female libertarian, who thought the shirt was "ironic" because of the reports that McCain called Cindy that.

69. You forget about the reporters who where there when it was said and were used as sources
But why dwell on that when we can pretend that a female libertarian is an Obama supporter and use some stupid t-shirt to try to make it look as though Obama is as bad as McLame.

73. oh, I totally believe that he called her that.
Edited on Wed Oct-15-08 10:08 AM by ErinBerin84
I found it "strange" that his immediate response to that question in the town hall was not a denial, but a quick "eh, have this guy removed!" I didn't add the part about the reporter's account of it, because I thought that was common knowledge. And again, Nicole Wallace probably knows that these people were not at an Obama rally (or a Palin rally) and even if they were, do not compare to calling Obama a terrorist or shouting kill him , but why stop lying now when she could continue in the tradition of her mentor Karl Rove?

Well then, that's pretty low of McCain. No woman deserves to be called such crass names by anyone, let alone by her husband.

They had been friends for years and he should have chided the woman who called her the "B" word immediately, not 10 minutes later.

Not many more fit to wear the label than her.

If I ran into her in public, I'd undoubtedly shout that at her.

Wouldn't wear the t-shirt though.

93. I tried to do a little quick research about WOW...
Edited on Wed Oct-15-08 01:35 PM by SavageDem
...and it would appear that WOW refers to Women Online Worldwide - I haven't seen anywhere else in this thread that identifies what "WOW" is. Their site is a bulletin board, but it doesn't look that active. No threads in the "Politics" section started in three days, and the Search function doesn't return any hits on "cunt."

So, I might be tempted to agree with others that this smells a little like a Republican smear job. I can't think of any women I know - including fairly rabid feminists - that would proudly (or even ashamedly) wear a shirt like this.

OK, so I was quick on the draw. Looks like there is a group out there - and I do mean "out there" - that is proud to create & wear these shirts. Go figure. I guess our big tent has a few kooks in it. At least we don't claim to be perfect - or we shouldn't...

94. She can allege anything she wants.
In fact, that seems to be the McCain campaign's basic strategy: allege damn near anything and let the voters figure out if there's anything to it. It may be true that some college student at some McPalin rally wore a McC*nt t-shirt, or whatever (and it may be pure fabrication)--but that's neither a threat against Palin's life or necessarily a misstatement of fact (there, I said it). And in no way has the Obama/Biden campaign incited that type of behavior. As opposed to, you know, suggesting that Obama's a traitor who "pals around with terrorists."
