*** DON'T BELIEVE THE POLLS!!! DON'T BELIEVE THE ELECTORAL MAP!!! THIS RACE IS NOT OVER!!!!***
This is being done to create a sense of "it's in the bag" for Obama, hoping it keeps Democrats at home since it seems to be a foregone conclusion. Likewise, it helps stimulate the Republicans, hoping to draw them out in big numbers. We need to go forward as though we're down by 5 percentage points. That's how we need to finish this!!!!! EYES ON THE PRIZE FOLKS, EYES ON THE PRIZE!!!!

4. Ho-hum. I'm so certain of victory, I'm not even gonna bother voting this year.
It seems too much like a pile-on. Since the margin of victory is gonna be so awesome, I may even sympathetically vote for McCain just to show 'em there's no hard feelings. Who's with me, guys?

If you tell me I need to post the sarcasm icon here, you are a complete idiot.

5. I'm canvassing this Sat and the weekend before the election. BUT....
I think if it looks like a landslide and many republicans are angry with mcstupid we will have a much bigger turnout than them. We are more proud of our candidate than many of the moderate conservatives. I think democrats want to be a part of this historic election and will be willing to wait in long lines.

We have donated money we really couldn't afford and spent time we really didn't have. Why? To help Senator Obama take our country back from the Neo-cons who would destroy it. Now we see what a organized effort my millions of patriotic americans can do. Thank god. Three weeks to go, we have to work hard until the polls close here in Denver and in the states.

10. I think if we poll DUers, 100% would say they will vote.
Your message is good, though. Preaching to the choir, maybe.

11. Just reiterating the obvious. I see a lot of posts on here with polls, electoral maps...
...and the like that, at least from my perspective, seems to be premature celebration. I just want to reiterate the fact that we have 3 weeks left, a very important debate, and anything could happen. Remember, Reagan was behind Carter 3 weeks before the election.

13. Uh, not likely.
Generally landslides demoralize the other side to the point where many of their supporters stay home.

The polls showing a landslide in 1980, 1984, 1988, 1992 and 1996 did not really impact the race on election day.

16. I'm thinking it could act as a "rally the troops" sort of thing...
...it's the only thing that makes sense to me when I see Karl Rove and the like calling this a landslide for Obama. Why on earth would THEY, of all people, do that?

17. Remember "Dewey Defeats Truman" - we can't let our guard down
for a minute-- I know that's how Obama is playing it. The polls are impressive but I'm from Missouri... I'll believe it when I see it. I don't trust the repugs, especially on voting day.

22. I registered 6 voters today - all Democrats
This is the final day of voter registration in my state. I registered 6 more Democrats. A couple of people I spoke with said they were not registered and were not going to vote. Frankly, they really seemed like McCain supporters to me.

20. This could also affect
republican turn out. If Obama is just going to beat McCain by such a huge margin, why bother to show up? My Repug cousin didn't bother to vote in 1996 since it was obvious Clinton was going to win and she was pretty luke warm about Dole.

I assume nothing, particularly in those swing states where McCain is within 5 points. Turnout is crucial.

21. I don't know anyone who is staying home no matter what the polls say...
Remember many don't even watch the polls. They go to vote because of what has happened over the last 8 years. They go to vote because they want that right. They go to vote because this election is historic and they want to be a part of it. If they go to Obama rallies, they will vote and it doesn't matter how far ahead in the polls he is.

Btw: Obama is ahead in early voting.
