Hawaii Governor Not Sure Obama Gets The West
Source: CBS(Colorado)

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (AP) ― Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle says Democrat Barack Obama can't claim to understand the West just because he is from Hawaii.

The Republican governor appeared with former Colorado Gov. Bill Owens and former U.S. Sen. Hank Brown of Colorado to campaign in the Front Range for Republican John McCain on Tuesday.

As an island state in a tropical environment, Hawaii doesn't have issues such as forest fires and electricity grids that cross state lines, Lingle said.

"This is just another example of Obama willing to say and do anything to win," Lingle said.

2. Did Obama claim to "understand" the west?
Or is she just shoving words in his mouth in order to knock him down for it?

This is not going to play well in Hawaii, by the way. She's saying, essentially, that no one in hawaii can understand "the west".

3. Obama understands and cares about issues in all states that affect
all types of people.

unlike that scumbag Palin who thinks Alaska is like California , Oregon and WAshington state. people in these areas mostly hate Palin.

7. "electricity grids that cross state lines"
Enron screwed California using policies encouraged by Phill Gramm (R-TX), a top advisor to John McCain.

Arnold Schwarzenegger (R-CA) made sure that Enron wasn't held accountable.

We don't need more Republicans to manage electricity over state lines.

8. East meet west
because it seems as if we have two united states. Using that logic I'll have to say a western senator would not know the problems of the East. Furthermore, Obama is now the senator from Illinois and we do have fires here in the East. Florida has suffered many forest fires as well.
