Isn't it time the nation accepts the truth about George Bush and 9/11?
Watching the latest catastrophe on George Bush's watch, the collapse of the US economy, we have seen the nation finally shift away from considering John McCain for President. It is clear to most now that McCain represents more of the same. And the "same" in this case involves the wholesale destruction of vast aspects of our society.

But they still give George Bush a pass on 9/11. Even though all agree with the facts that the Bush administration was asleep at the "terrorist switch" leading up to that horrible event, they still give him a pass due to the horrific nature of 9/11. Now is the time to revisit this. Lets look at a high level history:

Most citizens now acknowledge that George Bush and his "team" lied to get us into Iraq. Most also agree that this was a distraction from capturing the real culprit - Bin Laden. And that this shift has now left us more vulnerable than ever.

Most citizens acknowledge that the Bush Administration's incompetence during Katrina led to a devastation that followed. That this represented one the clearest representations of Federal incompetence the nation has ever seen.

Most citizens now acknowledge that George Bush and his cronies have completely politicized the Justice department, which has led to a questioning of our commitment to previously cherished values of the rule of law.

Most citizens now acknowledge that the Bush administration willingly and consciously engaged in torture, and then tried to cover-up the complicity in this. Most agree that the rest of the world sees us as a threat instead of the beacon of hope and freedom.

Most citizens now acknowledge that they have been spied on by the US Government, and that the commitment to privacy and our overall remaining civil rights have been severely questioned.

Now, most citizens acknowledge that the Bush administration's total lack of oversight over the financial world has led to the calamity we now find ourselves in.

And the Republican congress went right along with all of this. Hence McCain's continual slippage as decision day nears.

But what about 9/11? Why does George Bush still deserve a pass on this? Based on an 8 year history, this acknowledged trend of insane incompetence and incredible hubris is clear - George Bush and his administration dropped the ball on 9/11 just as bad as he did all these other disasters. And history, the MSM and the american people should acknowledge this fact.

2. I am very glad that this post is about
the enormous incompetence demonstrated by the Bush Administration before 9/11, and not about speculative conspiracy theories.

5. I didn't even think about the conspiracy theories. All can be explained by sheer incompetence...
And yeah, the conspiracy theories can be pretty bizarre. Again, with this track record, its a FAR more likely guess to base this disaster on the same basic thing that caused all the others.

9. yah, the conspiracies
conspiracies just make the truth look fuzzier, because of course the conspiracies can all be fought down, some are just silly.. they just cloud the obvious truth.
The FACT though is who 9/11 ended up helping. Terrorists got what they wanted out of it (US at endless crushing war in the mideast) and rich American pigs profited from it too.

Sorry, I know this has been discussed here like a billion times, but I can never get over what my country lets happen.

6. Hell Yes.
The plain FACT of it is: No one in the world gained as much from what happened on 9/11 as George Bush and his friends did.

That will never change. It's so glaringly clear, but no one cares?

8. I don't buy that this happened for personal gain, but due to sheer arrogant incompetence
The hiding of the incompetence after the fact, including the war in Iraq certainly "benefited" him in the short term though.

10. yup
exactly. Bush was very lucky. Hopefully history will show what a failure he was. I imagine that in 2040, if we have the leisure then to look back at the beginning of the century, he'll be an obvious clown.
