So, do the Repubs think they can steal the Presidency again through these bogus ACORN lawsuits?
There was a reporter from the Chicago Tribune on Cspan just now addressing the ACORN red herring. It's bizarre conspiracy made up by desperate rethug strategists, but how do you all think this will play out? Do they actually think they can steal the Presidency with lawsuits? Relentless rethug PR is getting the media biting on this, but I think it's a perfect lead in to rethug dirty tricks investigations.

1. No, they're gonna use it as an excuse for losing so badly
too bad so sad. It won't fly.

4. Let's say they use lawsuits to challenge the results
I think it'll backfire because what will it prove? If, as we all know, the fake registrations wouldn't get approved anyway wouldn't the whole thing fall flat on it's face by showing this as the big bogus red herring that it is? I would think it would ultimately give Obama more legitimacy.

2. I think it's about hardening people against Obama when he does win.
They want to create a sense of illegitimacy about this election with the least educated half of the country so they'll stay Republicans instead of switching sides. Also, it gives them an excuse they can give to the media when they lose.

5. There wil try to use to mitigate the ass whipping they are going
to take. And they will use it after the election to try and discredit an Obama presidency. These people will not go away. I'm sure the talk radio haters are already working on the attacks for the Obama administration.

8. Letters, emails, phone calls?
We'll do what we can, but the Dem surrogates, Obama's people will have to take it to them indefinitely. I hope his top notch organization knows this and is planning for it post-election.

6. They will use it any way they can
...this is why turnout is key. The more ballots cast by established voters, the less we need the margin created by new voters.

7. The thousands of registrars offices around the country will be laughing at this notion!
They will also be insulted. Do people actually think that you can turn in a false voter registration forms and get cards in the mail and vote multiple times????? Any registrar will tell you that false forms are not a concern. A much bigger concern is that many qualified people will turn in forms and because of one tiny little insignificant mistake, will be tossed out. In any ethical registrar's office, the biggest two failures are that a qualified voter doesn't get to vote and that any vote doesn't count.
They have a million requirements that would make it near impossible for anyone to get more that one voter card.

10. This is the excuse the thugs will use to explain their huge loss to Obama and the dems

It don't mean a thing, just another right wing lie. McCain loved ACORN a few years ago LOL!

11. If the rethugs muddy the waters the way it looks like they will
then it will be the prefect setting for the congress to finally come up with a national voting system, or maybe consistent laws . . . but with oversight. The ACORN thing can be made into good.

12. Put away the blood pressure medications....
Very few of these voter fraud lawsuits even make it to court, much less win.

This is the reddest herring you ever saw. Wear sunglasses.

13. I'm confident in my man and his team
but I finally made myself watch Recount, damn it was hard to relive that, but it reminded me in living color that they will go to shamelessly brazen and extreme lengths for power and think they can get away with it.

15. Have you ever played tennis with someone who starts building their excuses early?

Get up 3-0 the first set, and suddenly, you're hearing about that ankle, and the faked limp shows up.

Damn that ACORN! They're making me lose!!

It's entirely the kind of illogical scapegoating that the right is famous for using.

ACORN = "All those black people" to the rightwingers that eat this stuff up. It's code for the N word in today's dialog. Fox News can barely resist screaming "it's the damn (you know what) fault we're losing!"

This is about giving the rightwing racists something to wail about in loss, something they can repeat and act as if decided the election. Never mind that bogus registrations don't mean bogus votes. Never mind that ACORN is the entity that was defrauded by those who submitted false names. Never mind that ACORN cannot by law strike any suspicious names on the lists turned in.
