CNN.com's banner headline: Country tunes warm up crowd for Sarah Palin campaing stop.
CNN can sure recognize an important story when they see it.

Although, one wonders why Palin feels the need to campaign to southern voters. In olden days, those were considered locks.

1. Did they throw in some Johnny Rebel tunes?
Seems appropriate for that crowd.

2. Oh whatever, it's just a Live Election Coverage banner, NOT Breaking News.
BTW, how many Country music stars endorse Obama?

4. I dunno. Toby Keith, the Dixie Chicks, Faith Hill, probably quite a few.

12. Merle Haggard, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Kris Kristofferson, Raul Malo
Those are official endorsements. I'm sure there are many others who support Obama without official endorsements.

3. She'll be in Maine tomorrow with Lee Greenwood
Her one Maine stop is an airport hanger in Bangor. She's not even leaving the tarmac. But at least everyone can groove to "Proud to be an American" before she speaks.

9. Maybe he should go for appropriate public domain songs.
"99 bottles of beer on the wall," in honor of Bush.

"Row, row, row your boat," in honor of his chances of winning.

"Are you sleeping?" because that's probably what his aides are always asking him.

"When Johnny comes marching home again" for what he'll be doing the first Wednesday in November.

11. The custom song by Williams, Jr. was the worst piece of music
I've ever heard. I'm glad he did it for the Pubs and not the Dems. It was dumb and ugly.

13. Rich, drunk white guy backing a Republican and pretending to be a common man.
Pretty standard. I like some of Hank's music, but he's lost my respect as a person. I haven't heard his McCain song, and will be happy if I can avoid it the rest of this campaign.

14. He took one of his songs "family traditions" and pasted some
unbelievably terrible text to the melody resulting in a musical monstrosity.

15. Back on the Beam, eh, Hank?
...and no, you'll NEVER be the artist your daddy was. Deal with it.

17. I heard she was going to have a new cover on an old Loretta Lynn tune.
remember "You Ain't Woman Enough (To Take My Man)"?

Oh, you think that I should drop out,
You say, “Sarah, step aside,
There's too much scandal up in Alaska
And you're just not qualified.”
Well if you don't like my lipstick
Or how I wink when I say "I-ran",
Then you ain't crazy enough to be my fan.

Reporters everywhere askin' all sorts of questions
Full of “gotchas” all the time.
But Bush and Cheney never told nobody nothin'
And hey, they done just fine.
So if you don't like the answers
That Joe Six-Pack will understand,
Then you ain't crazy enough to be my fan.

Sometimes a fan's caught sayin'
Things I ain't supposed to hear.
But secretly this hockey mom
Would like to buy that fan a beer.
And when they cheer me at those rallies,
Ah, I know just where I stand
With losers crazy enough to be my fan.

People who love me say that I'm the new Esther
She's the queen who saved the Jews.
Well, I'll take that crown but you can keep your Bibles,
'Cause I got one that's hardly used.
If you think that John McCain's body,
Isn't part of Sarah's progress plan,
Then you ain't crazy enough to be my fan.
