Obama Moving Field Staff From Michigan To Indiana
Edited on Wed Oct-15-08 10:24 AM by ClarkUSA
Obama volunteer team leaders in Macomb. Co, Michigan were told yesterday that many Michigan-based field staffers would soon be moving into Indiana....

David Plouffe's campaign internals for both states must look good: Michigan is nailed down and the battle for Indiana is now joined!

:bluebox: Update: More On Obama's Michigan Redeployments

Another Obama volunteer from Michigan forwards along this e-mail:

Hi Team,

It is with regret that I have to tell you that Tommy is being moved to North Carolina, to try and take that state for Obama. It is a testament to his abilities that he has been chosen for this difficult work. Half the Michigan field team is being moved to other even more precarious states. It is very exciting that we may get NC in the 'Blue' for the first time since Jimmy Carter!

It is also a testament to us, that we have such a strong group of volunteers that they feel we can do more with less! Thanks for all your hard work! We have just a few short weeks now so please keep your eye on the prize and keep working for Obama!

:woohoo:

5. So MI is definitely a lock for us?
Leaving the state won't allow McCain to snag Michigan? I hope not.

8. That's what this move is telegraphing but grassroots volunteer team leaders will keep working hard.
Only paid staffers are moving out to work at putting Indiana over the top. And I doubt McCain is in any position
to "snag" Michigan, considering he has little organization in place in Michigan and he has no plans to go back
there.

9. What I've been told is that once the volunteer force is well trained
and large enough, and when it seems safe enough, the paid staffers can be moved to other states that need some additional help. So, it means that the ground game in Michigan is great, and that Indiana is definitely in play. Obama is going for it.

I know a staffer who has been all around the country. And let me tell you, those staffers are amazing. To a person, they're young, tireless, brilliant and absolutely committed to electing Obama.

When the reinforcements hit Indiana, Obama's numbers will bounce without a doubt.

7. I've been coming over the line to canvas and phone bank on the weekends
Especially around Asheville, but a couple times in Charlotte.

Great people in North Carolina and the experience has been largely spectacular!!!
