Do you REALLY believe undecided voters give a damn about Ayers?
I'm trying to look at this election through their eyes, I can't see how the Ayers thing could possibly influence anyone who is objectively (and honestly) measuring these two candidates.
But I could be wrong. Your thoughts?

1. I think Ayers is a non-issue. Obama was 8 when he was blowing things up and years later he served
on a board with him and a bunch of other people including many Republicans--it's a non-issue.

4. I think McCain is making a huge mistake if he's banking on Ayers..
dominating the debate tonight.

13. Yesterday
I was driving home and had NPR on, they were taking calls from "undecided" voters, most that talked on there were looking for more than is realistic from anyone. IMHO, anyone who is in reality undecided at this juncture will never really make up theirmids til they step into the booth to vote, also several of them were from Cal. and stated that since Cal. would go Obama anyways why vote at all...

6. I don't think ANYBODY gives a damn about Ayers. I think Repukes are
grabbing at straws. They need an excuse to hate Obama and Ayers is handy. I think a lot of them are racist and it suits them to use Ayers as an excuse, I think a lot of them wouldn't vote Dem if Jesus came back to earth and ran as a Dem candidate and I think at this point, McCain isn't helping them with a reason to vote FOR him so they are looking everywhere and anywhere for reasons to vote AGAINST Obama.

8. No, not Ayers specifically. However, the whole "Obama is a terrorist" meme...
as are his supporters...does scare people.

Terrorist as in Middle Eastern terrorist. 9/11 and that "Obsession" DVD has done quite a number to turn normally rational people into being afraid of those of a certain color, or with a different-sounding name.

9. No, but remember that we are dealing with some voters who know almost nothing.
Anyone whose mind is not yet made up is either in a coma, has not paid any attention, or is lying.

Anyone who has not paid attention might be picked off by the Ayers story.

10. Maybe after economy, education, war in Iraq, health care,
re-regulating banks and Wall street, jobs, decent pay, a future for their children, safety in the streets, global warming, national debt, threat of China, threat of Iran, renewable and affordable energy, the world series, college football and American Idol and many others. But I am not sure, I really doubt it.

11. There's nothing there..
"William Ayers: Funded by Republicans"

The Annenbergs– Republicans. Bankrolled William Ayers with $50 million

But Walter and Leonore weren’t just giving money to educational foundations started by William Ayers. They were also giving hundreds of thousands of dollars to the Republican National Committee and various other Republican groups, as well as to a whole host of Republican candidates, including the following:

George W. Bush $4000
Mitt Romney $5000
Strom Thurmond $1000
Fred Thompson $500
Rick Santorum $3000
Rick Santorum– former Republican Senator. Received $3000 from Ayers’ backers.

Why would billionaire Republican philanthropists give millions of dollars to a program that was working with William Ayers? Why would George W., Mitt Romney, Fred Thompson and all those other Republicans accept money from the people who were funding this William Ayers-associated group? Why won’t McCain discuss these connections between the Republican Party and Ayers?

Here’s the icing on the cake: just yesterday, the McCain campaign put out a press release bragging about the fact that Leonore Annenberg has endorsed him for president. Yes, you heard it– a McCain backer bankrolled William Ayers with millions of dollars.

"More icing: You know that Republican Arnold Weber I mentioned earlier? The one that served on the board of the CAC with Barack? Not only did he work with William Ayers in the 90’s, he has also donated at least $1000 to the McCain campaign. That’s right– McCain is accepting money from associates of William Ayers, and so far has not given the money back."

12. Probably not. I don't remember right now where I saw this, but there
was someone on tv talking about undecided voters. He said that this close to the election undecided voters are people who aren't really political, but they vote. They tend to vote for whoever is leading in the polls when they vote.
