Why don't we have joint debates?
I'm thinking that it would make for a very interesting debate if we threw all the presidential and vice presidential canidates together in one room. It would give voters a much better feel for how the presidential and VP candidates work together, how they relate, and how much respect they have for each other. Can you imagine Obama and Biden tag-teaming McCain and the She-Bush?

1. I think that would suffer from the same problem as the early primary debates.
Too little time per person means a higher proportion of talking points.

6. But you're talking about 8-10 people, not four.
Give them two hours, and just get them started. The presidential and VP debates have shown that they're happy to carry on from there.

2. I asked that months ago and people thought I was nuts.

It really makes no sense for the VPs to debate each other - people are voting for Pres, with VP as their backup support. I think debates should be ticket against ticket.

4. She-Bush would never speak--it would be an Obama/Biden tag-team
of McCain.

5. Another good reason we should see it.
If she can't back up her partner, what does that say?

7. I'd settle for actual debates.
The topic or topics would be announced before hand. Each side would present its arguments and each side would get an opportunity to question and then rebut the other.

Instead we get bullshit.
