2. "People wouldn't be voting for Democrats if we weren't so incompetent!"
So that's basically what they are saying? I recon they are right about that.

4. Would we have the economic problems without 8 yrs of Bush?
It all comes back to the irrefutable fact that the Republican agenda does not serve citizens' interests well. If they did better work, Obama would probably not be polling as well as he is.

7. How far ahead would he be if MSM was fair and balanced?
But, I do think he is where he is regardless of the economy in particular. I feel it's the historic nature of the first black president and new registrations as well as a lot of the undecideds joining in, and then you have the repubs and independents going for Obama.

So, no I don't think it is one thing like the economy giving Obama the edge.

When you get right down to it, it's Obama who is lifting Obama!

9. Would Bear Stearns be where it is today if it weren't for its financial problems?
Or rather not be where it isn't today? ;-)

Would dinosaurs be where they are today if it wasn't for that comet?

Would a lot of things be different today had history occurred differently?

12. Would Obama be where he is if Gore were president?
How about if Hillary had not voted for the war? What difference does it make? Gore is not president, Hillary did vote for the war and eight years of Republican rule have destroyed the economy. Enter Barack Obama.

14. Its a fair question to ask...
and the following would be a fair answer: To quote someone we all detest, "So..."

The economy is bad it follows the incumbent party will be blamed and rightly so therefore Obama will be doing better than McCain who represents the incumbent party and has no plan of his own to fix the mess aside from the old played out ideology that got us into this mess.

I can understand your frustration with it though. The question borders on the absurd. If the economy were not in the shitter McCain would be doing better and if my uncle were a woman he would be my aunt.
