They keep talking about confidence in the market, and then Bush comes out and whines and everything drops for the day.

I know it more complicated than just that, but I'm wondering if having an intelligent President who will mend ties with our allies, get us out of the quagmire in Iraq, wants to grow a "green" industry, and will look after things properly domestically, will have a GOOD effect on confidence in our stock market?

1. The day after the election, the stock market will rise substantially..... mainly because of...
foreign investors and their renewed confidence in America.

The rest of the world will be having as much of a celebration as we will... and their exuberance will show up the next day in the markets.

All of the world markets are interconnected now. When their markets go up, so will ours and vice versa.

3. The other side of the coin:
What happens if the Republicans "win" their third presidential campaign in a row?

6. I've heard Suze Orman mention this very thing...
She said an Obama win could bump the industrials 1500+ points, based entirely on optimism.

8. An Obama win will boost the market and help with Holliday sales.
You will see some optimism out of typically pessimistic people. You will see some celebration and better than expected Holliday spending at retail (which is suspected to be extremely terrible this year).

9. Mostly, the markets want to see STABILITY and PREDICTABILITY
They'll make money whether there's a Dem or a Pub in the WH. They just need to know which way to adjust.
