McCain Flack On Transition Chief Lobbying For Saddam: ‘We’ve Had No Associations With Any Lobbyists’
McCain Flack On Transition Chief Lobbying For Saddam: ‘We’ve Had No Associations With Any Lobbyists’»
Yesterday, Murray Waas revealed that the head of Sen. John McCain’s transition team, power lobbyist William Timmons, was involved in a lobbying effort on behalf of Saddam Hussein in the early 1990s “to ease international sanctions against his regime.”

Today, MSNBC’s David Schuster asked McCain spokesperson Ben Porritt about the revelations. Porrit claimed that the campaign has had no associations with lobbyists, quickly changing the subject to Bill Ayers:

I’m actually not too familiar with his history, but what I do know is that throughout our campaign, we’ve talked about this a lot, we’ve had no associations with any lobbyists on our campaign, and I think there’s questionable associations with Barack Obama that needs to be addressed before we even get into talking about the transition:

“You have no associations with Charlie Black?” asked Schuster incredulously. “I mean, he’s a lobbyist.” Watch it:

2. I'm glad Schuster pulled the question right back to the long list of lobbyists
on the McLiar's team.

I hope they continue with the responsible approach and oppose the heap of lies the McCain campaign team has no problem dishing out.

There IS a list of lobbyists on the McLiar team. Use it.

The Annenbergs are Republicans and donate to Republican candidates as well as Bill Ayers projects. When can we hope reporters will ask the shameless McLiar dissemblers whether they've urged all Republicans to return all the donations they've received from the Annenbergs?

4. The low info people just want McCain to reinforce their stupidity
They (Fox followers) seem to thrive on repubs, and especially Palin, saying that Obama is a terrorist and a black one at that. That is all they will absorb and Mc's people know this. Truth be damned.

5. I think that is really a misconception of the elite sociopathic Republicans
running the McLiar's campaign. Members of that elite Country Club First group are operating as though The Ends Justify the Means for them.

They think they've successfully dumbed-down enough people to make another election close enough to steal. But they have not, I'm happy to see.

People are more resistant to slimeball marketing than they used to be. Now it's only about 20% of hardcore Republicans that fall for it. And they are tiring of it too.

Slimeball Republican Campaigning is partly responsible for the key factor in election 2008--

> > > Republican Desertion Effect < < <

The other key factor of course is the completely disastrous condition of this country after 8 years of Republican dominated maladministration.

6. Polling shows you may be right
Those reagan dems, middle class white/blue collar and religious right (excluding the fundamentalist) people that have kept the repubs in office seem to be getting the message. Believe it may be the "pocket book" issues that finally started moving them to the left.

Still, I worry. The re-election of Bush blew my mind. The world couldn't believe it.

10. Me too. 2004 was awful. Stealing America: Vote by Vote has TV clips
Edited on Wed Oct-15-08 06:00 PM by Overseas
from election night 2004 that were awfully sad for me. I was sitting here, watching the encouraging exit polls, tallied with vote counts at 11 pm with lots of Democrats still standing in line to vote... Kerry 51 to Bush 48... and in the wee hours, the vote count diverged widely from the exit poll data. That data was later adjusted to match the vote count...

www.stealingamericathemovie.com is a great documentary. It reveals the multiple methods Republicans have used to disenfranchise Democrats, in a calm and comprehensive manner. The TV footage from those actual evenings of shared history are very moving.

I am hoping we bring on a landslide large enough to overcome the various methods of voter suppression that are being employed by Republican operatives this time.

I have also hoped that Republican leaders would call off some of their dirty tricks and allow the people to have their choices for the Executive and Legislative branch because Republicans know that they've made a complete mess of our country and desperately need the Democrats to rebuild the budget and move the country quickly into alternative energy.

That's my secret hope. That they'll stand back and let the Obama Administration in to quickly and compassionately clean up the Republican mess and move us forward together into a more sustainable future.

And if they're still total crooks, may they please remain clumsy and slimy.

3. What does McCain
need a transition team for? What's he transitioning to? Does he really need a team to lead him to one of his houses? I thought that's what Cindy was for.
