Poll question: DU POLL: What should be the moderators' single greatest PRIORITY on Election Night?
We all love the moderators and they have much to do, especially on big nights, like tonight, and especially on election day and night.

It's going to be crazy on DU, and things might get crazy behind the scenes, and we all hope things run smoothly and DU doesn't crash!

Please select one of these choices or select "other" to suggest another HUGH concern!

2. Other: Having enough Jell-O for the Jacuzzi.
Of course top priority the day before that is finding a refigerator big enough to hold a Jacuzzi.

3. My dear NYC_SKP!
I'd say that having those silky new servers working well is MY top priority!

The last thing I want is for DU to crash! :scared:

And I'm also hoping that we won't need to be at some scary high level where I can't do searches ...

8. My dear CaliforniaPeggy!
Oh my, we don't want a repeat of 2004 here, and I suspect that there are a LOT more folks this year that will be visiting DU.

THAT is precisely why I submitted this poll!

I agree with you about the servers, but without plenty of hamsters, we're screwn!

to keep away all the Free Republic traffic that's bound to try to get in here that night.

Aside from that, I am scared of what the Moderator's Hot Tub might look like.

"Members only". I don't know if we've had to do that this year since I'm perpetually logged in.

11. In Firefox, it's a check box under
Tools/Options/Content/ Load Images Automatically

I have no idea whether or not this is actually useful to DU but it seems to make my connection go better when there's a lot of traffic or I'm on dialup. I'm actually planning on coming in to work to be on high-speed to watch 'cause dialup ain't workin'.

The wayback machine for DU is missing a day or two right at election time, it might have had to shut down.

Any veterans here want to chime in?

Get them each doing 25 minutes at 75 RPM three times a day, and put them on a strict peanut-and-maize diet.
