Rasmussen Massachusetts Poll: Obama 62(+4) McHate 34(-4)

Wednesday, October 15, 2008
Email a Friend Email to a Friend

Barack Obama now leads John McCain by 28 points in Massachusetts, according to the latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of voters in the state.

Obama leads McCain 62% to 34%. A month ago, he was ahead 58% to 38%.

The race in Massachusetts has never been closer than 15 points since Obama knocked Hillary Clinton out of the race for the Democratic presidential nomination in early June.

No Republican presidential candidate since Ronald Reagan in 1984 has carried Massachusetts, the home of Senator John Kerry, who was the Democratic Party’s standard bearer in 2004.

Rasmussen Markets data gives Obama a 99.9 % of winning Massachusetts’ 12 Electoral College votes this fall. The state is currently rated as “Safely Democratic” in the Rasmussen Reports Balance of Power Calculator.

Nationally, Obama has been maintaining a steady lead in the Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll since the turmoil on Wall Street began leading the news.

Kerry himself is sailing to reelection in the Senate by an even wider margin than Obama’s in the newest Rasmussen Reports polling on the race released earlier today.

In Massachusetts, Obama leads among male voters by 25 points and among women by 29 points. He also has a 57% to 39% lead among unaffiliated voters.

6. Today I saw a 'NObama '08' sticker, but the car had Texas plates.
A few weeks ago I saw a 'Sarah!' sticker on a shitbox with a Jesus fish. There is one McCain yard sign in my town for every 20 Obama yard signs. There are none in my parents' neighborhood in the city.

Send me your contact info by private message and I'll forward it on to some FL Obama staffers I know to try to get you set up with remote phone banking.

9. Why does anyone bother to poll Massachusetts?
The state is so blue it risks shifting off the visible spectrum. The only interesting question to ask Mass voters right now is whether they think the Sox will come back against the Rays.

12. I think the Rays are going to win it.
The momentum is there, and the Sox look weak.
