I was hard on Russert while he was alive, but if he was still around, Palin would've been forced by public pressure to appear on MTP. There just wouldn't have been any way around it. That was the kind of influence Russert had.

And Russert would've chewed on her like a puppy with a rawhide bone. She would've destroyed her career as well as John McCain's in about half an hour. We lost out when Russert died this year.
