Rude Pundit: What Obama should say tonight...

http://rudepundit.blogspot.com/
"What Obama Should Say (Rude Version), Part 3:
If, at tonight's debate at Hofstra, John McCain mans up and actually attacks Obama on Bill Ayers, and the Democratic candidate doesn't say, "Goddamn, Johnny Maverick, you don't know what everyone else knows. It's over, motherfucker. Whether you wanna admit it or not, it's over. Put this cocksucker in the history books and scribble down, 'Landslide' next to it...."

-----------

""You know why you're done? Because everyone's fucking tired of the Vietnam War. Not only that, but the Vietnam War doesn't fucking matter anymore to most of the people in the country. It's passed its political expiration date, motherfucker, and that means your story doesn't matter. And Ayers doesn't matter. None of the same fuckin' arguments hold water. We got our own goddamned war and our own goddamned ripped-up and shattered vets filling the VA hospitals. It means you're not as fuckin' special as you once were, Maverick Man. So shove your bullshit about Ayers up your ass. Forty years ago might not seem like that long to you, but to most people, it's a fuckin' lifetime."

=============

So true!!!

2. WHOO-FUCKING-HOOO! Ain't it the truth!
I'm barely old enough to remember Vietnam and I am
SOOOOO tired of re-fighting this thing over and over
and over again! As long as there's a Boomer in the
presidential race, there will be the same old argu-
ments (hawks/doves; moral "majority"/counterculture).
I'm praying with Obama we can FINALLY move past this
and deal with the problems of TODAY, which are
substantial enough ...

3. I'm afraid you're right...

...which is why what McCain says means little to nothing to people under 45 years of age.

4. We should ignore the lessons of Vietnam at our own peril....
Obviously, the Bush Administration shares your view and because of this was not able to stop themselves from going into Iraq.

Sorry, being an Ostrich doesn't work any more.

6. Disagree with this....
The race is over but not because McCain is giving us Vietnam reruns.

It's over because McCain has engaged in personal petty attacks and Rovian politics when the nation simply won't stand for it any more.

This is no longer Bill and Hillary Clinton's 1990's of "the third way" and cafeteria style state of the union addresses trying to pick off small groups of voters with pet projects.

Nor is it George Bush's and Karl Rove's 2001 with cheap shots and smear and fear tactics.

Americans face a stark choice between hope and fear, darkness and light.

They have chosen the light.
