Need a little repug down time
Needing a diversion from the talking heads and "Bush is god" ideology of the last week. I decided to try and catch a couple of DVDs I have been wanting to see. On my must see list is "Outfoxed - Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism" by Robert Greenwald and "Unprecedented - The 2000 Presidential Election" - 2004 Campaign Edition by Joan Sekler. Decided tonight's the night. Well, except I can't find a copy to rent of either movie.

I already have several copies of Fahrenheit 9/11 on pre-order from Amazon, and could quickly put in a request for copies of Outfoxed and Unprecedented, too, but that's not the point. I'm spending a quiet evening at home, need to have a little sanity on the boob tube for a change so I set out to find a couple of rental copies for my perusal. No luck with any of the rental stores in town. Asked if they were going to be getting copies and one snot-nosed kid actually told me that the owner told him to be on the look out for any "left-wing wackos" who want to watch F9/11 or Outfoxed. He said the guy was kidding, sort of.

Am I ever going to find these items at my local stores or is the thought police doing a number in your town, too? Guess I will just buy the things - certainly want to support crusading movie makers - The Truth Squad is outnumbered!

2. Smack dab in the middle of heaven
Actually Kentucky, great place and good people - despite the political leanings right now. Kentucky has voted republican for the last few years. Home of smarmy senators Mitch McConnell (he probably gave Rove lessons in fighting dirty - real dirty) and Jim Bunning (I'm in the Baseball Hall of Fame - geese this moron is but Pete Rose isn't), holy roller "Contract for America" preacher Ron Lewis, Saint Anne Northup (not! see McConnell), and Gov.Ernie Fletcher (he who has state plane in protected air space during Reagan's Washington sob fest causing major messing of pants by Bush and the rest of the repugs.).

Democracy has taken a real beating in my state for the last couple of decades. You can stand in line at the grocery store and literally see some people's mind narrowing as they read the scandal sheets by the register.

3. Netflix carries "Outfoxed"
It's #1 on my queue. Looking forward to it.
