I'm SICK of this whole "Obama can't close the deal" meme
If Obama is leading by high single digits to low double digits, he has obviously "closed the deal" with enough people in this country. If he wins the election, he's "closed the deal". He's NOT going to get EVERYBODY'S votes. OBAMA JUST HAS TO GET ENOUGH VOTES TO WIN (i.e. "close the deal"). PERIOD. McCain OBVIOUSLY has not "closed the deal" with ANYBODY so far but of course you don't hear anybody talking about THAT, DO YOU???!!!!

The only political system in which "candidates" get 100% of the "votes" is a DICTATORSHIP!!!!

Basically saying that if Obama/Biden can't "close the deal" with Independents, they won't have a mandate to do anything :puke:

2. Doesn't matter - only the actual vote matters

4. Criminy. It's a meaningless phrase. If he were polling 95% to 5%, the networks
would be asking why he couldn't "close the deal" with the remaining twentieth of Americans.

6. I know, we have a black man with a muslim sounding name getting over 50% of the vote
and they keep saying he isn't "closing the deal". Give me a break, he is on track to win by the largest margin since Reagan beat Mondale and he is 180 degrees different from being the typical rich white guy.

It was equally sickening then.
