STATEMENT ON ACORN INVESTIGATION

ARLINGTON, VA -- Today, McCain-Palin 2008 campaign manager Rick Davis released the following statement in response to the FBI's investigation of ACORN:

"Given the fact the FBI has launched a nationwide investigation into the questionable voter registration practices of ACORN, it is imperative that Barack Obama's campaign cooperate fully with this important investigation. To date, in public announcements including last night's debate, Barack Obama has attempted to conceal and distort his and his campaign's relationship with a group that is currently engaging in systematic voter fraud. Barack Obama's campaign must fully disclose the true nature of his association with ACORN, including:

· The total disclosure of all funds, including $832,000 from Barack Obama's campaign to ACORN and ACORN affiliations like Citizens Services, Inc.

· Any and all information the Obama campaign has related to ACORN's database of registered voters compiled during this election cycle.

· The total disclosure of coordination between Barack Obama's campaign, ACORN, and ACORN affiliations over the entirety of this election cycle.

· The truth behind ACORN's hiring of get-out-the-vote workers on Barack Obama's behalf in Ohio during this election cycle.

"In the spirit of a fair election Barack Obama should assist in this process prior to Election Day."

They are seriously reaching for straws here. Every puke pos on M$M keeps spewing this ACORN bullshit and it really needs to cease.

10. Before Gonzales left Justice, he 'lowered the bar in terms of voter fraud prosecutions'
At a summer 2007 hearing on the U.S. attorney firings, Sen. Diane Feinstein (D-CA) questioned then Attorney General Alberto Gonzales about changes made to DOJ's election crimes manual.

As TPMmuckraker reported at the time:

The new version, which replaced the 1995 manual, lowers the bar in terms of voter fraud prosecutions -- no longer cautioning against pursuing isolated, individual cases of fraud and softening language that had all but prohibited pursuing such cases before an election. "Two and possibly three of the fired U.S. attorneys were fired because they didn't bring those small cases that might affect an election," observed. "Something's rotten in Denmark."

The recent inspector general's report on the U.S. attorney firings concluded that the failure to pursue voter fraud allegations as aggressively as the Bush administration wanted was a factor in several of the the firings.

14. Eat it raw, lying idiots. Hope more people watch STEALING AMERICA VOTE BY VOTE
The calm and comprehensive documentary "Stealing America: Vote by Vote" gives a great overview of the several techniques Republicans have used in recent elections to disenfranchise Democrats and reduce voter turnout.

One of the Republican techniques they worked heavily in Ohio 2004 was challenging voter registrations at the polls. This was not in order to make sure things were honest. Very few false voting cases have ever been identified in a 5 year study. Republicans only sent challengers to Democratic precincts and created those long long lines you may remember seeing on election eve TV reports.

So now, with the ACORN stuff as a precedent, the RNC could very well be planning to do that again. Station vote challengers at Democratic polling places in swing states to slow things down so they'll get depressed and go home.
