Vicky Iseman finally speaks: I did not have sex with that man
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081016/ap_on_el_pr/mccain_lobbyist;_ylt=AmG4Nsa1MqR973NZE1zz_yGyFz4D

WASHINGTON - A female telecommunications lobbyist who became part of an explosive story early this year about John McCain has broken months of silence to deny the main subtext of the account — that she was suspected of being romantically involved with the Republican presidential candidate. "I did not have a sexual relationship with Senator McCain," Vicky Iseman told the National Journal magazine.

Iseman was the subject of an article by The New York Times in February that said in 1999 McCain aides worried that the Arizona senator and the lobbyist may be having an affair. The newspaper did not publish any evidence of such a relationship.

The story alleged that McCain wrote letters and pushed legislation involving television station ownership that would have benefited Iseman's clients.

That's bizarre. Why now after all this time? Was this timed to stick a fork in McInsane? Why open this can of worms 20 days out?

McCain could not take Viagra with his Blood pressure and nitrate medications, so...
unable to get an erection and unable to have sex. Vicki is correct.

3. That was never the issue for me.
The issue was the fact that he blatantly pulled political favors for her, thus showing what a damn joke his image of a "maverick reformer" is.

4. I thought that we, as Democrats, were above this sexual relationship stuff?
Who cares? I realize there is a hypocrisy argument. But if we don't care when our guys do it and we do care when their guys do it -- doesn't the hypocrisy argument work both ways?

I say fight them on the issues. That's all it will take.

5. I think we're discussing the bizarre political strategy behind this revelation.
Rather than the revelation itself.

19. The hypocrisy argument doesn't work both ways
because by any logical definition, they can't make a case. I'm not going to make it for them so that leaves them in a tough spot as far as I can tell.

We don't care about their sexual practices, until the kids and animals get involved but they need to stop being such garbage that they project their own oddities on the world and cry foul to those who will listen to them.

Hit the fucker right in the voters.

We don't care, neither do most Independents which leaves them with their Jedi mind tricked base and some of their 10-15 cushion. Though, I think most of the cushion are probably anti-self interest tax freaks.

10. Not to mention that it's interesting she qualifies her statement:
"I did not have a sexual relationship," meaning that it's entirely possible that some sort of emotional intimacy took place.

12. What the hell? Why would she call attention to this now?
This is yet another case of the personal lives of consenting adults that I don't care about. Repukes going after pages, yes. Hypocrisy in regard to adultery? Yes, that matters, too.

But adults doin' it? Don't care one way or the other if it's true.

20. Odd. I suspect they may be trying to defuse a new story about to break.
I always thought the NYT had more information on this but held back. They may be ready to blow the lid on it now.

21. More bad luck for McCain. If there *was* an affair, it might've helped him.
McCain may become the first candidate ever damaged by being a faithful husband.
