Joe Francis, 38, was unexpectedly and weirdly famous. If everyone is famous for 15 minutes, as Andy Warhol once said, Francis' notoriety might extend well into the weekend.

Only in America. On Wednesday night, he was a household name far, far beyond his own household. You see, Joe is a plumber. His shop is on Nelson Street in Amarillo, not far from Dick Bivins Stadium.

His 10-employee business is called Joe the Plumber. His Web site - one of the most popular in the country on Thursday - is joetheplumber.com.

1. A call-in on AAR mentioned a $5K price tag for JtheP's bald-style pate, so he doesn't want to pay

taxes for Bush's War, which he supports, and for his use of the system and infrastructure that makes it possible for him to do business, but $5K for vanity is just fine.

Dear God, we're going down 'cause we've grown too stupid and fat to survive.
