I was one of the 100,000!
I got photos too. I'll upload them later. It was awesome. I got downtown at around 9 this morning, so I was able to get a little close to the action. I had a good view of Barack. The weather was beautiful and people were just happy to be there. All in all, it was a good day.

8. I got down there and started walking right towards the metal detectors, but oh no, I was promptly
notified of the line.

THE LINE.

Which wrapped all the way around the park and then some, down to the river. The line was moving pretty briskly, however. Of course you had your vendors selling things, and I was happy to oblige and purchase. I got t-shirts, buttons, caps, etc. My entire family went. We finally get through the metal detectors and make our way up to the staging area. There was a cover band that played all the good old Motown oldies. Then Jackie Joyner Kersee opened up with the pledge, then Nikko Smith sang the anthem (did a damn good job at it too), then some man named Al Smith led in prayer, then Mayor Francis Slay (St Louis) came on and got booed, then Lacy Clay was up, Russ Carnahan, Sec. of State Carnahan, Jay Nixon, then Claire McCaskill. Then some 6th grade math teacher introduced Barack. Barack came on and it was just great. People were climbing on each other just to see him. It was mayhem. Somebody fell out in my area and the medics had to be called. It was great.

9. Oh yes. Everything was closed pass Broadway. People were everywhere. I was near the front, so I
don't know about the back. But when I turned around, there were people as far as the eye can see and in the parkgrounds as well. When we left, the streets were packed with people, just walking down the middle of pine and Market. LOL
