Prediction: If Powell actually endorses Obama tomorrow . . .
it will get very little coverage in the MSM, certainly less than Acorn and Obama's 'socialism'.

2. It will get some coverage, maybe as part of a larger story listing all the conservatives endorsing
Obama

9. Powell's endorsement of Obama will be less significant
to the MSM than "Joe the Plumber" endorsing McCain!

4. I think it will be covered widely and will do much to neutralize all the
"real" Americans vote for McCain and Obama's a socialist bullshit.

(Ok, it's a little pollyanna, but I can dream can't I?)

13. Being pessimistic all of the time is not a sign of intelligence.
It is a sign of a mental disorder. The world does not always turn out to be rotten. For example, we did win big in 2006, didn't we?

15. Don't worry. We ARE all right. From watching what the mere speculation
of an endorsement would be in the media, it's guaranteed to be BIG.

12. Who's he?
I'm so old I remember when this guy was so popular and well-loved and out front that there was consideration of him running for the Presidency.

But he spoke up to Cheney and Rumsfeld behind those closed doors, "resigned," and the guy fell off the face of the earth. And no one said a word. The media treated it like it was the most natural thing in the world for this prominent man to vanish. They run more stuff about where's the "runaway bride," or the guy who played Gilligan? now.

But Powell is too chickenshit to say anything.

That man has had SO many chances to be a hero, but he always gives in to his inner chickenshit.

18. For this to be effective for Colin Powell, he has to endorse Obama
How would endorsing McPalin refurbish his image? It would just show that he backs the same old Bush* policies.

That said, I totally agree with your reasoning... there's only one reason for Powell to go on MTP tomorrow--to endorse someone.

At least online.

23. It will get a decent amount of coverage because...
1) It's a simple story. His words will be available and there is a precise time-and-place involved.
2) It's a man-bites-dog story. Republican endorses Democrat.
3) The public knows who Colin Powell and Barack Obma are.

25. Depends on what Powell does
if he actually does endorse which I'm still doubtful of it depends on what he does after it. If he appears with Obama at an event it will be big news. If he does an Obama commercial it will be big news. If he passively endorses Obama from Meet the Press it will be a two day news affair. Top of the headlines but it will fade after McCain debuts new shiny object or new offensive statement of the week.
