Thank you, SNL writers.
Many of us feared that Palin might come off as funny and likable in her appearance last night, that she would rehabilitate her image somehow, that you would write a bunch of funny, self-deprecating lines that would make Americans say, "Doggonit, bless her heart, there is a reward in heaven for her, SHE ISN'T THAT BAD.... you betcha!".

But instead you tightly restricted her performance to a series of reaction shots, limited her lines to a quip ('Steven is my favorite Baldwin brother") and she became a witness to mockery around her. BRAVO!

The role you gave Hillary Clinton in her SNL appearance was entirely different; you allowed her be funny in an extended one-on-one dialog with Amy Poehler, her impersonator. But for Palin, you gave her a much shorter rope, and I for one, thank you for it!

1. I expect it wasn't the writers who did the restrictions
but the McKKKlan campaign. As someone else noted, she was kept away from the studio audience.

4. Oh, no. It would have been to their benefit to make her more appealing--
the McCain campaign requested the appearance and not the other way around.

3. The thing I love about Hillary on shows like this, she has the intellect
and personal sense of humor to personally have a great time. It's genuinely in her facial expressions. You can't fake that, you either have an intellectual sense of humor or you don't. Poor Sarah, totally unarmed.

Yep, she was ambushed and all she could do is sit back and smile otherwise it would have looked worse.

11. I despise everything Palin stands for. But I didn't think the SNL thing was that bad.
And she said 'Caribou Barbie' <snort> - a shout out to DU without her realizing it

In spite of my feelings about her, she seemed to be a good sport for SNL. I suspect that was one of her life ambitions being on that show.

13. She was mocked. At first she didn't realize it, but by the time
the moose came out, I think she was pissed.

The right wingers on tv tried to play it off like it was a great performance.

She was mocked.

14. Didn't notice her expression when the moose came out
(and too sick of looking at her to go back and watch). Did she look pissed?
