A Tsunami of Good News
Powell, 150 Million Dollars in September, a cascade of newspaper endorsements, 100,000 people in St Louis, 75,000 in Kansas City. Can you feel it?

1. Tell you on Nov 5th.
But yeah, it looks good... must follow through.

I won't be happy until there are 65 to 70 Dem Senators and 300+ Dem members of the House (without all of the "dogs") AND a President Obama in for 8 years (and maybe it's time we got rid of that 2 term and your out 22nd amendment bullshit... all it does is limit the effectiveness of the Office of the Presidency to 1 term, lame duck after that).

We need 28 years of progressive rule in this country to offset the last 28 years.

8. Did anyone suggest a dictatorship?
perhaps a Democratic majority will just feel like one to YOU.

But it's been the repuke party that passed the laws to make one possible.

2. It's amusing to me that SUDDENLY it's important what the corporate-owned media thinks.
I guess those conservatives and the corporate media have finally seen the light... :eyes:

5. It is important in several respects.
First, the reason why Corpmedia is important in and of itself is that it is a mass media propaganda system and a very effective one. You and I despise these gits, but part of the reason we despise them is because they are so powerful. If they didn't shape public opinion we wouldn't give a shit.

Secondly, for the second time in my lifetime, a huge split in the governing elites has developed. The Neocon/Neolib Washington Consensus has failed on both the economic and geopolitical fronts. Their control over the Way Things Are is now clearly at risk. What is not clear is what will replace the failed system. The last crackup resulted in a ten year retrenchment also known as 'the 70's', and what emerged out of that was that assclown Reagan and the Neocon/Neolib directed mess we are in now. So just because they are fractured and in retreat doesn't mean that they aren't simply going back to the drawing boards to cook up a new plan.

We are about to elect a reform government to deal with a global mess of staggering proportions. The two models we can look back on are FDR and Carter. FDR transformed our society introducing progressive social democratic reforms that were astoundingly sweeping, and a progressive domestic social policy agenda that moved us forward from 1932 until the election of Reagan in 1980. Carter initiated the scrapping of the regulatory side of the New Deal and brought us Reagan.

9. Carter was a conservative...
Between that and the Mujahideen, he should have been a Republican.
