Anyone else find Powell's endorsement very moving?
The endorsement was very well stated. The strongest moment for me was when he defended Muslim Americans and talked about the Muslim soldier. Something we will not hear from any Republican ever.

Regardless of how you feel about him, Mr. Powell deserves to be applauded.

1. Yes.
He did a lot more than just endorse Obama.

4. Yes, his story about the Muslim soldier was moving, and desperately needed.
The Hannity types have demonized Muslims, and it was clear that Colin Powell wanted to say something about it, and he did.

6. amen. and let's not forget Tora Bora...
Edited on Sun Oct-19-08 10:31 AM by Essene
for many years this issue has bothered me.

for those familiar with the "tora bora" story and all its depressing implications, you may also remember thta up there in the mountains... listening in on osama bin laden's radio transmissions... was one of the bravest US soldiers we have.

a muslim-american as part of the most elite group of usa servicemen, sneaking around tora bora to nail down osama bin laden and to put an end to the real "war on terror." bush betrayed him and all of us.

bush messed up at tora bora... and has continued to just make things worse since then.

i can't fathom how depressing these years have been for that muslim-american soldier and all the otehrs.

bless colin powell for speaking out.

8. Yes. It was reasoned, wise, and noble.
He won back some of my respect, and really touched me with his humanity.
