Sheeeesh. The fact that I'm even looking at West Virginia should be an uplifter.

1. Well, to me it's depressing because a Democrat won West Virginia not so long ago.
Clinton took it. It makes me think that the only reason Obama is not doing better there -- given the horrible economy -- is because Obama is black. I hope they defy their negative stereotype. I know there are plenty of good people in W.V. -- the question is whether they're outnumbered by the Bible thumping racist morons.

2. Yeah, it's likely race.
Very sad, because West Virginia folks need change about as much as any in the nation.

West Virginia should be about 70-30 for Obama.

3. 5 electoral votes. If they want to be racists, I really could care less.

4. Obama and Biden barely campaigned there, if at all
You have to make choices in these campaigns, and all the racist stuff that came from the Clinton campaign probably convinced the Obama campaign that WV would not be a wise use of resources.

If they had it to do again, now knowing that is definitely winnable, I bet they would have included WV in the battlegrounds.
