Over the past few weeks I've noticed a sort of bizarre change in the McCain campaign when it comes to the use of women, images and presentation.

Is anyone else noticing this?

I mean, go back and look at the earliest images and video of Palin, especially her clothing, and compare it to the current campaign. Last night on SNL it was really noticeable.

She has clearly went from clothes that do not accentuate her physique to clothes that do. Also, I've noticed where at several McCain/Palin rallies, they are having all sorts of women standing right next to them and the attributes of these women have been quite obvious.

I know this sounds sexist, but it seems to me that the McCain campaign is using sexuality in a very subconscious way.

2. One of the deepest, most hard-wired, most "hard-wired" responses there is.
And I don't think it is so very "subconscious".

on..ahem..."attributes." I think that while other factions of McCain's campaign may believe Palin has value where fundies are concerned, McCain can probably only see her value to a penis. Just my opinon.

11. well.....I'm trying not to get labeled...
as sexist for noticing this. Which to me is odd because I feel them using gender in this way is much, much more sexist than me noticing the endowment of the women being used in the McCain campaign. Especially, since I've seemed to have noticed that it is pretty blatant and hard not to notice.

8. All of her jackets and a shirt she was wearing the other day - very form-fitting.
Snug skirts, too.

Stand her next to Clinton, Boxer, Sebelius, Pelosi, and just about every other woman of power and heft in Congress. I think you'd see a striking difference.

17. i was surprised at the short tight black skirt she was wearing on stage
wouldn't one be concerned with getting too close to the edge of the stage and have people start chanting - "I see Paris, I see France, I see someone's underpants".

In all seriousness, it seems so much more practical to wear slacks.

9. They have marketed her with sex from the very beginning
The tight tight skirts, panty line visible, 5 inch spike heels, knee high boots, the winking, the phony accent. They are marketing her as the sexy little waitress in the rural roadhouse bar. It's all been sex. She has nothing else.

Probably because I can't stomach watching either McCain or Palin long enough to notice. Sex sells, but this isn't a cologne or car adverstisement...this is real life, this is our future and the future of generations to come.

Vote with your penis and they'll be holding you by your gonads for the next 4 years!

I wanted to post something I've been noticing about Megan McCain's (ahem!) physique that I've been seeing "developing".......are we on the same page??? Do you even understand what I'm implying??

It's become an unwritten rule that we lay off the candidate's kids on DU, which I totally agree with, hence why I haven't posted my suspicions.....

23. You should read the front page NYT piece on Palin supporters today....
it is about how the great majority of crowds are men and how they salivate over her body during rallies.

it made me throw up a little bit.

and yeah, you are right, even though the weather is getting cooler, the jacket has been 86ed for snug, tailored shirts.

24. I had breakfast Friday with some Rep men, they had a naked pic of Palin
These retired guys who are part of a bipartisan social group my husband associates with passed around a photoshopped pic of McCain with a nude Palin. We Dems joked with them about how that is typical for Repubs to encourage people to vote based on another part of anatomy besides their brains! I know several guys who always said about Hillary that they could never vote for a woman and that a woman should never be Pres, but they are slobbering over Palin. I predicted from her choice that she was picked to provide sex appeal, sorely lacking with McCain.

31. It's called the Republican Patriarchy using women like they always have
She's not a person to them -- she's a good girl who does as she is told by her "daddy" (Todd.the church.the party).

She lets them USE her like a piece of meat.

this is why women all across America were HORRIFIED and DISMAYED by her.

She is Patriarchal Barbie. The ultimate sell out of women. Being sold as a "feminist". but now, today, McCain has come clean when he announced Palin isn't like those "liberal feminists".

John, we already know that. You're the one who is confused.

I called her Patriarchal Barbie from day one.

Sadly, it didn't stick.

Every time I see her, I can't get over the image of her down on her knees, like a slave and then being propped up to shame those women who choose to be a real woman. She is being used to tell us of course you can have 5 children and be President and shoot a moose and come home and cook it. It's all an illusion, and not a very new one.

Thanks, but no thanks, to that Barbie on her Knees to big daddy, the Republican Patriarch, who still thinks he's entitled to own slaves, be they minorities of any kind.
